TOPIC: VTD Legends

VTD Legends 1 year 10 months ago #1

I was thinking about VTD the other day, and it occurred to me that it might be a good opportunity to bring back some of the older, still fondly remembered dungeons of the past. They'd need a bit of work to make them function in virtual space, redo the puzzles, maybe tweak the combat to reflect the current token power level. It'd be less work than doing something completely new though, especially if any of the props are still in storage. I'd be willing to bet there'd be demand, between vets wanting to revisit them and newer players who've never seen any of them before.

I would love to see some of the older dungeons! I quite enjoyed doing the sealed pack at gen con with the 2014 dungeon.

It would also be fun to chase the mind slayer over the course of a series of VTDs instead of over the course of years.

I'm on board,

I started playing in 2014 and would love to get to see (a version of) the older dungeons. I'd also be interested in revisiting the 2014-2017 dungeons now that I have a NM/Epic build.

I think it would be cool to do some of the older dungeons as VTD.

I expect there might be pushback from some on letting people get "old" XP.

Not me, mind you, but some.

Can always not give XP.

Can give fixed amount of XP lower than playing original, like give 750xp.

Could be a "new" or "rebooted" version of an old dungeon with XP to everyone. Maybe jsut bring back an NPC or a room here and there.

My XP for Odin's Haven has always been a mess, since I accidentally entered it as Normal and also died in room 6 after being pressured as a new player to do it as Hardcore. So I have been stuck at 50 points away from the next player level entirely too many times, and would be very happy with a chance to redo it. I have the feeling though.... that I may be very slightly biased
I play Rogue. Occasionally I even play Rogue well.

I'd probably just give everyone full XP for it, since it'd be a reboot, not a direct one to one version of the old dungeon.

Personally I would hope that any VTD redux of an old adventure like would come with new xp for all regardless of if they had run it before.

That said I love the idea of time warp vtd dungeons of old. Maybe even with throwback monster bits ie yet fur instead of yeti fang.
