Queue for auction after Casey and Wade - getting feedback 7 months 16 hours ago #1

I’m jumping into the queue to run an auction after Casey and Wade.

I’d like to get feedback on what order version you’d prefer.

1. Should it be Onyx?
-if so, should the C-R onyx also be auctioned (typically you just see the URs)?
2. Should it be a Safehold auction?
3. Would there be interest in supplementing the auction with 5th and 4th rings?
4. Would there be interest in supplementing the auction with old D&D items (old original modules, etc.)?
5. Is there interest in including the random URs?
6. How much interest is there in it being a condensed auction rather than super-condensed? (No, I’m not doing an uncondensed 8K - I did that once. My back won’t forgive me if I do it again.)

I guess we won't know for sure until the TD store reopens, but I would be very surprised if a Safehold 3 $8k purchase became available *before* the normal transmute date for Safehold 3 arrives.

I also want to host the one I do a year. I know how people are about queues and other people aren’t but I just wanted to get that out there. Sorry for hijacking your thread lol

I'm happy to join it. Having multiple running concurrently has always felt chaotic.

Will jump behind Fred then you.

Same. I am not sure if there needs to be a queue for pre-orders or only a few will get done in time.

I think it makes sense to have multiple auctions when they are different types, especially during pre-order season when lots of auctions fund. (Lightning vs non-lightning, onyx or not, etc.) But totally agree that having like 8 similar auctions going at once would not be ideal.

Full disclosure: I live in Illinois and get charged sales tax on TD store purchases, so I don’t ever plan to run an auction.

Some auctions have much longer durations (in practice) than others. It makes sense to me to have 4 auctions going on at once during the initial preorder timeframe as can't wait forever and not every one funds in less than two weeks. I think we are going to be there as we already have three open.

I’d recommend not having more than 2 auctions at once as it likely slows both from completing. Ideally, the two should have substantially different approaches.

For example - an onyx auction alongside a regular 8k super-condensed only compete for trade goods, 8k add-ons, and random urs. I could see a safehold auction happening at the same time as well (though, I have no idea how well those will do.) Of course, some lunatic could do an uncondensed 8k auction. The only plus to that is the random urs would be distributed in 10 packs already - easy to distribute. The down-side would be the pallet of boxes full of tokens (yes, it is a pallet.)

Based on feedback so far, I am thinking 8k onyx super-condensed, I’ll group the c-r onyx tokens into one item for the auction and sell each onyx UR as its own item. Anything we take out will be off-set with rings of the 4th and 5th circle. I’ll likely also include the random URs.

I'm hoping to run a non onyx super condensed auction after these others get completed.

I'm planning on running an onyx super-condensed auction, I'll hop in line here.
