TOPIC: Another shady lenses of divine sight auction?

Another shady lenses of divine sight auction? 4 years 1 month ago #13

Lori Martin I did not start this token thread. I am not the first one or only one to say the token looks very odd or questionable. I was merely pointing out that it looks as if it is a token that would be scrapped. And it is possible someone got a hold of tokens not meant for market and how would that be possible? Is that a crime? The people who made this topic are calling it shady not I. I am merely pointing out what everyone else is pointing out and adding my own two cents. Is that not allowed? Is Arthur not allowed to answer threads on the forum that others started because he had a question about the corona virus situation? I felt you addressed the coronovirus thread adequately but I do have concerns as any normal person would about the corona virus situation. The virus story is all over the news is it not? It is not fake news is it? I just had questions about how to proceed with regards to the upcoming con and shows...Is that a crime? Was I profane? Are such questions and concerns about the virus with regards to upcoming events not allowed or against the rules? I was trying to move on from the Coronavirus thread by taking part in this topic.. Was that wrong? I just asked a question.

No. It would not HAVE to be an inside job. There are other, more Occam -friendly explanations. When I first saw those photos, I too was highly suspicious. But after doing some close examinations, my suspicion-level diminished significantly.

Framing an accusation in the form of a query is not "just asking a question".

Arthur, I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt and assume it was not your conscious intention to make an accusation against any TD employee. That said, that is how your words came across. I realize certain world events are making some folks nervous; that's perfectly understandable. I would ask everyone--you and me included, Arthur--to think carefully about the things we post when we are in the middle of a highly-emotional state.

When a TD employee sees a damaged token, we do not send it out. But as Lori said, we cannot individually inspect every token.

Arthur wrote: And it is possible someone got a hold of tokens not meant for market

Sure, it's possible. Lots of things are possible. But it's very, very unlikely. More importantly, currently there is no evidence that such an event has transpired. Until such evidence arises or until ALL other explanations have been disproved, I think it best to look at more likely scenarios.

Arthur wrote: and how would that be possible?

Not gonna go there, for obvious reasons.

Arthur wrote: Is that a crime?

Reselling ill-gotten goods and then sending them through the mail is a crime, yes.

Arthur wrote: The people who made this topic are calling it shady not I.

I think making it sound like a TD employee is trying to foist damaged merchandise without evidence to prove such an action ocurred is casting shade.

Arthur wrote: I am merely pointing out what everyone else is pointing out and adding my own two cents. Is that not allowed?

Of course it's allowed.

Arthur, I say this with 100% sincerity. You seem very stressed. I am not a mental health professional, but if you would like someone to talk to, PM me and we can make arrangements to chat. I can't "fix" anything that's going on in your life, but I can listen. Sometimes just talking about a thing can make a person feel better.

Druegar, I love you. With 100% sincerity.

That sounds sarcastic, but I mean it.

The amount of messed-upedness this token has actually makes me want to buy it and add it to my collection. It even has that extra dark printing on the sticker. It's like the king of misprints. I'll be bidding on it. :)

it would have to be an employee of the manufacturer or employee of True Dungeon to get access to the misprints or defective coins right? That back is the worse that I have seen. What happens to the defective coins that are scrapped? Because honestly that is one of the worst misaligned stickers and backs I have seen.

Arthur,

Your implication that someone in the manufacturer or TD HQ employee is involved is troublesome at best. The reasonable and logical explanation is that the token itself is double-stamped and the token is askew. I have been in contact with the seller.

This may be hard to believe, but we do not sort through every token that comes in. Tokens do have mistakes and when found we try to work with people who end up with ones that have significant imperfections.

You seem to be making a lot of assumptions and claims regarding things (tokens and COVID-19). Perhaps you should be careful before making accusatory statements before knowing facts.
