Maybe they can start offering neat items in exchange for treasure chips at regular cons? I think they've done stuff like that a LONG time ago.

I remember at one convention they were clearing out the 2005 mugs with the tokens in them for just one treasure chip each. In hindsight I should have cashed in all my treasure chips for them. :)

Yeah, .mad at myself about that one, too!!!

I actually have two of sets of each of the mugs, one set with the mugs intact, and one set where I broke the bottom and took the token out.

I know, I know, it's nuts, but have we met!?!

:)

If you're curious, I did it because I have most of my collection in some sort of categories, and the mugs fall under the Promotional category, and it made me nuts when I would look at my tray of all the Promotional tokens and the mug tokens weren't there.

If you think it's hard nowadays to find a full set of them (including the Ultra Rare one), imagine the difficulty with trying to find two sets!

Trent, I wasn't too surprised that you got a second set of the regular mugs and broke them apart, but I don't think I could have brought myself to break open one of the UR mugs. I feel fortunate to have gotten just one of those in my collection. :)

They were tough to find, and even tougher to open up!

I found out the hard way that you can open them up by shipping them to your nephew in New Zealand. They'll arrive in a broken condition. :)

It looks like no one knew (or at least no one posted) what this was. Here's the answer:

In Virtual True Dungeon 4c (April 16-18, 2021) there was a secret room that the party could discover. In that room there were a number of stands with different animals on each one. Whichever animal the party chose you'd get a specific ability for the next room. This one was the Ram, which gave you +3 Retribution Damage.

I knew it looked familiar, but kept thinking through things from years ago and wasn't even thinking about something that recent :)

Yeah, I thought I'd mix up the history posts with some more recent history.

A leather hole punch. But I suspect that's not the answer you're looking for.

Was it used to notch people’s badges the year TD gave Gen Con attendees a free 10 pack?

I could be mistaken, as I thought a regular hole punch was used.

I remember the sound of this all too well...

CA-CHUNK!

It's the reason we have these little circles on tokens.

Would have been much easier with a Whitney punch for the GMs
