TOPIC: We are now in the End Game...

We are now in the End Game... 5 years 6 months ago #1

Well...I gotta put the token order in tomorrow, so PLEASE give these ONE LAST look-see. Not much has changed...except for lots of little wording and graphical tweaks. We changed the Bliss Runestone to a completely different power due confusion reasons (Stone -- not me).

Thanks SO MUCH for making such a BIG contribution to the token collection. Y'all have been a huge help, and since I have been distracted by working through my brother's estate administration, your help has been invaluable. A special thanks goes out to Ed, Kirk, Chad and Druegar for being their normal amazing selves (see Transmute formulas coming very soon!).

And I want to apologize if you were disheartened by some changes that happened -- or changes that did NOT occur. I appreciate your passion, and it pains me to have to say "no" to such cool folks.

Next week I start writing the first module...but first is it time to watch the beginning of the first Indiana Jones movie about "eleventy" times.

Thanks.

I know you made some hard decisions this year. Overall, I think you have improved the health of the game, even if you took some of our toys away. ;)

The set looks great. Thanks for your hard work, and the hard work of the graphics guy.

Thanks!

Always so fun to be included in the design phase!

Lost Ark huh? Foreshadowing?

They say that the best weapon is the one you never have to use. I respectfully disagree. I prefer the weapon you only have to use once! Oh - and if you really need to think about whether you're going to use the fireball or the + umpty staff of butt-whooping - you're likely to find yourself full of arrows, or fangs, or nasty knives & swords and such. Don't think - just shoot!

Thanks for listening to our suggestions. I can only imagine that not pleasing everyone is a hard decision, but at least we had an input to the design of this truely amazing game.

I get you had some hard choices to make Jeff, do appreciate the work you put into this and sounds like this year was under a time crunch. I admit I yet again full under a gap and there is no way to satisfy everyone. Just seems like a lot of anticipation with the transmutes and a fair chunk of players are treading water this year.

The trade in for Shadowskin is for 1 UR of '18/'19 correct?

Presuming TD is at Origins 2019 any chance of making the bead there or in the time between Origins/Gen Con?
We're all the kind of people who enjoy the game on a "meta" level. We like talking about the game year-round. We buy tokens. We enjoy crafting. We get together during the off-season if we can. We are a very skewed demographic that way. -Raven

The proposed recipe for the bead lists six different 2019 monster bits. At a guess I'd say that only two of the six will be available at Origins.

We had all 4 bits in the box at Origins if i recall as Jeff had said bits were spoilers due to no way to just put in the N1 bits.

I'm trying to be optimistic but this year making that difficult,

The bits all appearing at Origins this year sounded partly due to the late decision to have N1 premier there and be a full event instead of the original plan. Jeff has more time to plan to premeir a Dungeon at Origins this time, so may be able to handle it different.

Hang in there Jeff, none of us can begin to know the loss your going through. Hopefully watching one of the greatest movies ever can help raise your spirits a bit.

I would also recommend the mummy (great adventure movie) and tomb raider (less great, but had an awesome temple scene)
Semper Gumby, Always flexible.

With respect to the monster bits at Origins, I guess neither alternative will surprise me. I think the challenge is creating a treasure box with only 2 monster bits. What do u do with the leftover tokens? What if u don't have enough? Much easier to just mix up 1 batch for 2019 and use for all cons. Precedence was already set this year. I guess no matter what they do someone will be disappointed. Seems like the norm for this group.
