So does the Bulwark charm reduce Retribution Damage that the player takes?

Yes. In earlier editions it granted immunity but now it's RD DR :)

Can we please make the flail more blunt looking? Clerics should be able to use it, but not something so pointy I believe.

Also, do we really want Clerics on the Soul armors? Gaining life when someone else dies doesn't feel right for them.

The +2 Death Flail is a different animal from the +1 Dire Flail... See UR soon.

That's fair.

It's power creep to add the Monk to a straight +2 Rare robe, Both of the +2 AC robes so far have been just Wizards, I'd recommend having this one be just Wizards as well.

I think this is ok. True Monk's have never had Rare robes. But all Rare robes are +2. So the Monk gets a Rare now vs. just a Common. Sounds ok to me.

True, but there have been Rare robes before, and the Monk has been specifically excluded from them, so I'd recommend that continue. The UR robe was different because it wasn't AC.

Jeff, maybe change the wording on the Crown of Treasure Finding to allow it to stack with the Charm of Treasure Finding? Maybe something like "+1 Treasure Chip, stacks only with Charm of Treasure Finding"?

Robe: out of all the years of token design, 'because that is how it was in the past' seems a terrible argument this year.

Treasure finding: i think we need to make sure the transmute is backward compatible with the older rare TE, so the wording on this year rare isnt the issue (ie. The transmute needs to work with the rare wording anyway).

It's not a "it's how it was done in the past" argument, it's a "power creep" and "erasing lines between classes" argument. The Monk has very intentionally been restricted to +1 AC robes in the past, because of it's other abilities. It's the same reason why I didn't want the Barbarian to initially get the +5 AC rare armor.

I'm sure the reason there was a negative on the earler version of the robe was because the Monk was on it. Removing the negative modifier should go along with removing the Monk.

And to be honest, even though Jeff made some big changes this year, I don't think that makes looking at past precedent a "terrible argument". Looking at past precedent is pretty valuable, even if some times changes from past precedent are very intentionally made for a course correction.

The Monk can wear the Moonhide Robe at the UR level and get +2.5 to AC along with Reflex saves. So I think a strict +2 AC at the Rare level is ok.

Agreed, also i missed that we have a potions of deaths door functional reprint. I'm glad to see that come back in print regularly. I like functional and direct reprints as it gets stuff out to the playerbase.

What if the robe was +3 to Dex instead? Or maybe +3 to dex, -1 to str or con?

I'd like the +3 dex but can go with either of those options.

With the change to Skull of Sacrifice do we need the transmuted text on the GP sculptures?

I think that is for the reserve bars.

Here is my input (while late to the game). As always the graphics guy has done an awesome job, and my image input is just nitpicky stuff from my point of view.

Rares

Nice white starburst on these, and lots of detail, nice!

• +1 Nether Short Spear is wicked looking.

• 350 GP Gold sculpture
○ Img - maybe add a white starburst gleam to it to show rareness since it's not red.

• Nether Stout Helm
○ Img - Would be awesome if the lion eyes on the top glowed instead of the current white starburst.

• Ring of Iron Will
○ Img - The gem looks faded out, It almost looks like an img layer was set to partly transparent.

• Scrolls look awesome, I like these.

• Soul Armors
○ Removing the down side would make this token more fun, and lend to the epic tail where one team member was able to hold out and survive room 7. Maybe switch it to 5hp 3/room.

With Figurine Fiend:

Suppose you have 5 HP. You take 10 fire damage AND 10 cold damage. Does Figurine Fiend save you? How do you determine which damage killed you?

Alternatively, what if you take 10 damage that is both fire AND melee. Does that count?

+1 Keen Bolt

While space doesn't seem a consideration, would "+1/+1 to hit/damage & ..." make any sense for templating such things? Multiple &'s just seem clunky.

+1 Nether Knocker & +1 Nether Short Spear

Can see my comment about uncommons seeming weak, which would make these also seem weak. I had another thought on the short spear. I guess the standard is that javelins are thrown and spears are not - I didn't look, but a short spear could be a compound if it isn't already.

While +1 Bliss Hammer may be over the curve, it does average 5.5 damage +3 in Bliss versus 4 for +1 Knocker and 4.5 for +1 NSS. +1 Shillelagh is all classes and averages 4.5 (with no special, though).

350 GP Gold Sculpture

I realize there's already art and probably had similar in the past, but garnet/gold/ruby is a strange progression. Gemstone progression would make more sense, but this is rather trivial.

Charm of the Faithful

For players - anyone want to start doing Charm of the Faithful runs? Maybe not that interesting. For future design, a Cleric or Paladin Charm of Pure Faith that allowed someone to move 20 hp to someone else would be "exciting".

Figurine of Power: Fiend

So, is this part of the Dog transmute? Should it have transmute templating? What about other components to Dog?

Gloves of Guidance

Sounds more like a divine name than a backstabbing name. Gloves of the Assassin. Gloves of the Killer (prefer Assassin).

Ring of Fire Absorption

Better be tons of fire damage as there is just crazy amounts of fire reduction in this set. Seems like could be doing other things with one of these slots.

Scroll Healing Maze

The thematics are really weird. I assume there's some reason for this specific effect. I could see this actually being a PvP play as someone forces you into another dimension for a round. I mean, very few people are that terrible, but it becomes possible. It also creates questions akin to what happens when Lesser Maze goes off, though maybe less than that overly complicated spell. Also may be some pretty interesting combos with intentionally warping people away, beyond the obvious of taking someone about to die to AOE attacks out of harm's way.

I think it's interesting and wasn't offended by Wizards being on it, but it does seem like extending the sacrifice scroll cycle wouldn't be a terrible alternative. Don't feel that strongly about the weird thematics or weird mechanics.

Skull of Sacrifice

My first thought was this was awful, a rare consumable for just 6 healing. OTOH, potions are that. OTOOH, potions can be buffed through other tokens while this does not and it being a DP versus AI trade in makes it worse. Could make it cooler by making it 8 points of healing, but that may be OP for something that people could have dozens of.

Was a lot more interesting before, but I can see where the original had its own problems. Oh, here's an idea that's cooler and fits this year's LoDS debate, 6 healing but splittable among multiple folks. "You have a piece of skull candy, and you have a piece of skull candy."

Wand of Soul Spike

Energy draining undead still don't take Darkrift damage? I wonder if the uncommon will deal more damage in one of the dungeons due to cold vs. darkrift.

Wish the skull was 5 points and remove curse.
We haven't had a remove curse print since 2008, its over due to come back. It was an uncommon scroll.
Sweet a combat room, we won't take damage!

2018 Potion Bliss Stout removed curse.

I used all of mine in N3. Then we walked into the waiting room and there was free curse-removing holy water :(
