For example, assuming we will be seeing volunteer charms with +2 str, dex, con, and saves, would TPTB ever consider allowing those to be transmuted into a relic or legendary super charm that possesses all those stat boosts in a single charm? Yes, it would be powerful. But it would also potentially make the volunteer tokens more valuable and reward volunteers who have been at it for multiple seasons. (Forgive me if this has already been discussed elsewhere. Search-fu is failing me.)

A plan like that would definetly make me a lot more interested in the up coming dex and con charms (might even have to vol again this year to get a second str charm for my wife)

Well... one of the Ring of Heroism recipes did use volunteer tokens. So there is at least that example of making a transmute from volunteer tokens. I'd be curious how many were made from that recipe versus the completion token recipe.

I know I've seen the idea of transmuting volunteer tokens brought up several times in the past. One concern that (I think) often has come up is whether announcing something like that retroactively (or partway through the cycle) might leave a bad taste for volunteers that have already sold off their token(s) for the year. I don't remember whether the transmute idea came up again when this year's charm was revealed, which would have probably been the best time to put a plan for a transmute in place if it was going to happen.

You could probably get away with it if you ancounded it now, since people have probably not had to much time to sell their vol charms, plus there would still be time to buy it back without much price change or vol for another if you really wanted it.

That said one of the biggest pushbacks to the idea of a vol transmute has always been that some people would not want to give up a volunteer gift even if it was to transmute another (the argument has normally settled on it might work if the component tokens are marked somehow and given back)

A sideways thought related since i'm doing my post con sort. Giving volunteers options to get participation tokens from other cons. It's a minor thing but with the extreme proliferation of unique completion token that'd be a nice perk.

I was fortunate that i was able to run N1-N3 at Gen Con and get organized runs for hardcore, i know other volunteers couldn't. I still want/after the unc and other completion tokens i don't have.

Just food for thought,
We're all the kind of people who enjoy the game on a "meta" level. We like talking about the game year-round. We buy tokens. We enjoy crafting. We get together during the off-season if we can. We are a very skewed demographic that way. -Raven

Honestly, I might even prefer a complete years set of participation tokens over say a part time vol token if the participation set stays as big as it did this year.

That is probably a better idea because the +1 variants are usually weak.

Really, i don't mind/care about functional reprints and rather see those as participation tokens. It's seeing stuff like the boots for Pax and the horns from Gen Con that one regrets missing out on.

A set would be a cool package deal or bonus for volunteering. Not sure if i want it to replace anything but definitely something to consider. I put in for GHC for a single shift knowing that i'm costing myself a 100 bucks just to do it (i'm a masochist).
