TOPIC: 2019 Rare Token Suggestions

Reprints based on presumed destination in 2019:

Sacred Arrow (+3 sacred damage ammo)

Ring of Brilliance (+3 sacred with zwei-handers)

Oil of Holiness (+3 sacred after applying oil to melee weapon for room)

Ring of Fire Resistance (50% DR from fire, or the -3 fire damage ring)

Scroll Frost Spear (12 points cold)

Random other reprints:

Scroll False Image (50% melee miss chance)

Scroll Mage Armor (+4 AC to self for whole adventure, redeem in coaching room - ideally this would drop the restriction around other AC boosters) - It might be fun to name this "Scroll Rolland's Parchment" or something to build up the legendary names some.

+1 Shuriken (maybe change it a bit and add Barbarian to it)

Rare Pants of Vitality - Legs - All

+3 to maximum HP

Rare Scroll Lethargy - Scroll - Bard, Wizards

Monster's saves reduced to a maximum 10 for the next round. (May be further reduced from 10 by other items).

Rare Charm of Consolation - Charm - All

When you miss in combat you heal 2 HP

Rare Bead Circular Vision - All - Bead

Immune to surprise

Rare Choker of Celerity - Neck - All

When you roll initiative for the party, roll twice and take the higher value.

Rare

Crystaline Helm - Cleric, Fighters, Paladin
+2 to AC, -1 from shock

Crystaline Armor - Cleric, Fighters, Paladin
+8 to AC, -1 from shock

Crystaline Shield - Cleric, Fighters, Paladin
+3 to AC, -1 from shock

Crystaline Set Bonus - When 3 pieces are worn after reducing 3 or more shock damage you may add +3 shock damage to your next melee attack.

Has there ever been a item that let's you cast a 0th level spell as a free action once per combat? It should still be marked off the card, but it might be an interesting rare.

What about a scroll that caused the monster to automatically loose initiative.

There has not, this seems very strong for a Rare, but maybe as a Neck, Hands, or Waist slot it would work.

Cast a spell as a free action. Cannot select a spell that deals damage.

I would probably end up casting guidance with something like this. Maybe some of the other buff spells would get cast too?

There has never been a rare token that allows casting a spell as a free action, and most effects that grant that are 1/room or 1/dungeon - that effect is pretty well codified as a UR. I think the item you've specified above would make a good UR.

If you wanted to to be rare I think it needs a bigger drawback like:

Cast a level 0 spell as a free action 1/dungeon

or

Cast a non-damage spell as a free action 1/dungeon
