My wife is a Disney fanatic. I could easily get her ok on a second GenCon trip to Orlando. B)
D&D teaches all the important lessons in life - the low blow, the cheap shot, the back stab, the double cross. - Jerry Marsischky

Let them trap us. We have our swords. - Elric of Melnibone.

You try to get them to play the game, but all they want to do is play the rules. - Ardak Kumerian

I do not love the bright sword for its sharpness, nor the arrow for its swiftness, nor the warrior for his glory. I love only that which they defend - Faramir

Out of self-interest I hope they keep it in the midwest.

Re: Chicago, keep in mind the convention center isn't near anything, so walking to it is out (except I think one hotel set up there?), as well as the majority of food options are not near the convention center, which IMHO, make it a bad choice for GenCon.

Are there any other Chicago area facilities other than McCormick that could host it? Something in the Burbs?

Donald Stephens Convention Center ?

Unlikely. Geography doesn't match the places mentioned in the survey. GenCon wants its own show, not a tag along, and we don't want an already crowded venue that would become even more crowded.

My wife, too! That's how she encouraged me to go to the Stars Wars Celebration Con last year in Cali.

Yes, a GenCon at the Anaheim Convention Center would do it for her as well. :)

That would be a great spot for it. As long as the Con would not get as big as Gencon in Indy. But maybe the area could handle it /shrug.
