TOPIC: Crimes and Misdemenors

Hopefully, Jeff will be able to release info on what all the various amulets did and through process of elimination we'll find out which 2 went missing. I imagine if it was someone on the GT run who took them...chances are good the 'power' will be sucky. For all we know, someone snapped up a second because they didn't like what the first offered. Still, if we have a list of who was supposed to have what...we at least make sure that the stolen one can't enter circulation somehow through sale or trade without everyone knowing its providence.

There's nothing that can be done about the bag of GT tokens that was swiped since there's nothing to identify them from any other bag full of those tokens. All we can do there is try to be more vigillant in the future. HOnestly, this was pretty much inevitable given the quick expansion of the event and how much money is involved. I mean, how many of us have heard stories about how much thievery goes on at magic tournaments or know someone who had a play deck stolen? We just have to acknowledge that we're not in mayberry anymore and perhaps spend some extra time/effort looking out for one another.

I wish it had only been 2 Amulets. It was actually more like 5. Jeff made 40 for the 39 players. I believe 3 in my group didn't get one and at least 1 person didn't take one... so there should have been at least 2 extras.

that is good then.

I was in the final group and one of those who was unlucky.

there were 4 of us who missed out, one person did not choose an amulet (unsure why?) so yes at least 5 went missing.

there was also I believe one ticket that was not used, so it may even be 6.

Now the first thing Jeff said was he would make new ones for us. So I'm not concerned about the amulet itself. Jeff has always been very awesome in everything to do with TD.

The theft is worrying, a registry would be a good thing, at least we can make sure no one profits from them.

I know when I get mine it's as good as soul bound.

before this thread gets too dark, I still want to point out a lot of good and positive things happened this weekend.

Laz and his friends went out of their way to help a friend of mine with an UR, and I was given 2 boots of the marauder after my post of wanting to trade for them.

Smak gave a friend of mine a pretty good deal on some old wood tokens she had.

Plenty of secondary player events were happening, like Raven and her apprentice rouge scheme.

there were people in the hall giving away mirrors and restore scroll, and even common and uncommon tokens for free.

The NPCs and DMs were great in all of my runs and I saw a lot of cool people.

yes some bad S#!+ occurred, but compared to the general population and the 4 days that happened it was such a very small part of what happened.

choose to remember all the good that happened over the weekend and look forward to next year.

I look forward to trying to get some runs in with some cool people and friends I have simply because True Dungeon exists.
*mental note* always listen to Jeff

Speaking of missing things, does anyone know if Jay (he was a Zephyr DM) had his backpack found/returned? It went missing during the teardown on Sunday. The exit route from the epilogue room was changed, and his backpack went from being backstage to being in an active corridor without moving. It was hoped some volunteer saw it and picked it up, but it wasn't put anywhere obvious, like Lost & Found.

Eversuede did not choose an amulet. He was near the front of the line when it came time to choose, and we'd been warned not all amulets were necessarily beneficial, so he passed rather than risk getting a "whammy."

Later, when folks saw that the bad ones were not all that bad, most people were willing to risk it.

Plenty of secondary player events were happening, like Raven and her apprentice rouge scheme.

I'm glad you enjoyed the Rogues Game - I really appreciated your assistance! It was nice to have one Mark who was "hiding out" down the hall, so the prospective apprentices had to walk around to hunt for Marks.

Excellent sentiment!

It's always great to see old friends every year, and make new ones. I'd have a blast at True Dungeon even without all the tokens. (But the tokens make it extra-fun ; )

What we can also do as a community is police ourselves. Am I my brother's keeper and all that. I've heard a lot of stories lately about a ridiculous amount of shady crap. I think part of the problem is we tend to keep a lot of that as rumors and innuendo. Frankly, a good dose of sunshine might be the best course of action and if it convinces people to not be !#%^ups, all the better.

Seconded. Dice served me well all weekend.

From what I heard Sunday evening, I believe that the backpack had been found.
