TOPIC: Write Your Newbie Tips!

(In TD, "animal" is any creature that exists in the real world.)
Have you looked it up in the TDb ?

Not to side track, but concerning the tokens falling out of the pucks, I believe Jeff was going to look into a way to secure them in better. I know we talked about a variety of ways to make it happen.

Hopefully he has come up with something and we can worry about that less.

Now, back to sorting and organizing your tokens!
Knowing what you have and where you have it, is key.
The wallets mentioned are nice, but make sure you have a layout inside there that makese sense to you.
Sweet a combat room, we won't take damage!

Once you've played for a few years, you'll have a variety of different colored token bags. I use brown for arrows, blue for healing, red for critical healing, black for potions, etc. I just always have to have a lot of pockets!

Please check out these token wallets which allow you to easily review what you have on hand as well as they store fairly easily:

Vouching for these, they rock (just wish they held a few more tokens XD)

My current build has 33 tokens. Two are weapons, but that still puts me way above 24.
D&D teaches all the important lessons in life - the low blow, the cheap shot, the back stab, the double cross. - Jerry Marsischky

You try to get them to play the game, but all they want to do is play the rules. - Ardak Kumerian

I do not love the bright sword for its sharpness, nor the arrow for its swiftness, nor the warrior for his glory. I love only that which they defend - Faramir

The tokens have a metal core. This is important for two reasons:
1. They stick to magnets.
2. TSA will have a small fit if you try to take a large quantity through the airport (at least at other-than-Indy airports). If you do take them through the airport, don't stack them too densely together that they need to unload your whole suitcase to see the rest of what's in there. You can ship them to yourself at your hotel to make your travel easier.

Since these have magnetic centers, use those magnetic tool arm bands to keep your weapons or other quick access tokens safe and secure.

I've been using a Tool Band-It in TD for years and absolutely love it!

I have similar issues, but I use 2-3 wallets. One with the core build which arent "used", 1 for Gear & Potions that will be "used" and another for buranable tokens (arrows, heaing, etc). Additionally I use Jenny's Token Sashes for things like weapons and status affecting items the Coaches/DMs need to see frequently.

Also for new players - tokens that give a firm stat bonus trump tokens that say things like "immune to sonic damage" because at the end of the day you cant argue there is a +1 or not... but that sonic damage can turn into "loud noise" damage ... which isnt treated as "sonic" per ce... (trust me when I say this happens more than I'd like to admit)

That reminds me: make sure that you know which and keep handy the tokens that the DM will need to see.

Remember what you saw in earlier rooms. This info can help a lot with puzzles.

Don't worry too much about everything said here. The dungeons have always been fun even if you party wipe on the last room!

Just keep this in mind that if you are new you are not going to have a ton of tokens to worry about. So have fun, enjoy yourselves, laugh and always remember, "There is no token in the world that can replace a good brain."

(If I remember correctly that is a Smakdownism)

Do you have a reliable source for Strontium Aluminate tape? I ordered some that was supposed to be high energy, long life 24 hour glow tape that is in reality the 30 minute kind.
