Deepest sympathies and condolences, our thoughts are with the family.

Jim was a very instrumental "behind the scenes" guy who had a major impact on True Dungeon's design and structure. For many years after Gen Con Indy was over, Jim would send me an exhaustive list of his reflections on True Dungeon. We shared many long phone conversations, and I greatly valued all his input. I often took his counsel.

True Dungeon will be a diminished event with Jim's passing. We have lost a friend, champion and sage.

I would absolutely echo Jeff's comments. Jim and I often had phone conversations where the topics would veer off of TD and on to life and health. He always impressed me because he didn't shy away from what he was facing. He was very matter-of-fact about the situation. When it was good he accepted the good, and when the news was bad he discussed that with the same calmness.

Jim was a good guy. I always got a little grin on my face when I'd hear his voice on the other end of the phone because I knew I was in for a lively conversation. He has been on my mind these past few weeks...wishing he'd improve enough that I could have another lively phone conversation with him. Today, knowing those are no more, I am truly saddened.

Where ever you are, Jim, may all your adventures be pain free and joyous.
Lori :-)

We got to play with Jim on a run, I believe the first and only time, during WYC this year. With his token configuration I learned what me, as a Cleric, could do if built right and am working toward that design. We also got to talk to him for some time on Sunday morning where he did talk about the issues he was having and life in general. I am sorry to hear of his passing. Condolences to his family and they will be in our prayers.

All the best to his family during the next days, months, and years. It's never easy to lose someone you love, even if you had some time to prepare.

Sad news. I knew Jim from the forums but not personally. Heartfelt condolences to his friends and family.

I have spoken with Jim's family.

His family will have a funeral service in his hometown.

For his local (Illinois) friends, there will be a memorial service this Saturday (April 12th, 2014), from 1:00 - 3:00 P.M. I will need to doublecheck the details but I believe it will be at:

Country Inn & Suites
1837 Centre Point Cir
Naperville, IL 60563

If you were a friend to Jim and are reasonably close by, please feel free to attend and share your fond memories (TD, Nascrag, or other) of Jim.

If you need additional information, please contact me.
