You're just hoping for the rogue prestige class Lady of the
Night
Tinker, Gnome, Wizard, DIE!

I hope not. It would be nice to see them earlier so that we can prebuild our characters properly and have the stats ready for the coach.

Not that I will ever have the opportunity to use it, but Dwarven Defender would be a fine choice for the Dwarven Fighter.
D&D teaches all the important lessons in life - the low blow, the cheap shot, the back stab, the double cross. - Jerry Marsischky

Let them trap us. We have our swords. - Elric of Melnibone.

You try to get them to play the game, but all they want to do is play the rules. - Ardak Kumerian

I do not love the bright sword for its sharpness, nor the arrow for its swiftness, nor the warrior for his glory. I love only that which they defend - Faramir

My hope is that the Ranger class will go to Archer (2 ranged shots with an arrow as the second slider)

Oh, or to also help melee, ranger slides first, dm scores hits but leaves ranger sliders on table while everyone else slides, then they can score again if still hits.
It will simulate either quick shot for ranged or whirlwind for melee...also, probably takes a minus to hit to use the ability.

has jeff said
"This new sub-class will have the same stats as the 5th level main class (to make the Party Card function) but it will have some unique powers as well as some nice additional benefits that you will pick from card. The Coach will then make those upgrades on the Party Card as she would normally to other bonuses There will be a check mark box on the Party Card to alert DMs to the change."
that is in the first post of this link
truedungeon.com/forum?func=view&catid=5&id=186075&limit=12&start=192

So you really wont need to know what they do, because the stats will be the same

Jeff, I hope you don't let this one out until the Con(especially if you are to busy to work on it until then)

That would make it easier if there aren’t stat changes, easier to plan. Though this does bring some other scenarios, not as bad to fix, to mind:

Let's say we use the prestige class on the Ranger. The ranger is wearing the Medallion of Greyhawk. The prestige class bonus for the ranger is immune to Poison and/or Disease, which would be good possibilities for a prestigious Ranger to have. Now we need to change the amulet slot of the Ranger and redo stats, i.e change out MoG for a Necklace of the Oak. But it may not be the amulet slot that is affected, it could be any given slot depending what the unknown benefits are. That means also carrying a decent set of replacement tokens.

It is fun just trying to figure out what the Prestige classes will be. Rogue – Acrobat? Ranger – Marauder? Barbarian – Bezerker? Paladin – Cavalier? Wizard – Illusionists? Monk – Assassin? If it is pseudo DnD I sure wouldn’t want to be the Cavalier, being that they would charge into battle against an evil creature without hesitation. But then, unlike DnD, if the stats don’t change then the Cavalier won’t gain in hit points (D12 rather than D10).

One little slot won't be a
Huge hassle in the coaching area to change

But it will be for the players. If i was in the situation described above, it would likely cause a change in 3 characters since i would now be swapping around my best 3 neck items between the three people i equip. And what if that cascades into other changes? So, now i get to wear the charm necklace? Cool, but that means the rogue isnt wearing it now, so i want her to use a third might item for 5th level instead of the charm of heroism...

Granted, that is a bit extreme, and probably wont happen*, but it shouldnt be discounted completely.

*to avoid stress, i would probably just keep my equipment as is and be disappointed by the prestige class not doing as much.

Well, looks like the best backup plan if this info doesn't come out before GenCon is to save the once a year use for Saturday or Sunday. Hopefully there will be a pretty big discussion on here from people trying out the prestige classes on Thursday and Friday...;)
