Or the simplest solution is to just read the party card.

I agree and have no problem with that. But I thought this thread was discussing the perceived shortcomings of that system and possible solutions.

I guess I prefer a system that errors in the Party's favor instead of against it when the DM forgets.
Everything the DM has to add in gives more chances for the DM to forget and by proxy shortchange the party.
When the DM forgets to add in my +5 I just got shorted the value of a legendary.

^^ This. ^^

We (as Coaches, DMs, and players) are all human. We're going to make mistakes.

I would like make things easier for the DMs, so they will have less math to do, and so they are less likely to make mistakes.

I would like the Party Card to be set up in such a way that - when DMs inevitably make mistakes - it will most often be in the player's favour.

And if Coaches don't have to change the way they are already doing things (which opens up a whole new area where mistakes will be made) then lets please just keep with the current system.

For Grind, however, I am in favour of making changes as needed.

- There's only 3 DMs affected by the rule changes;
- Those DMs are also the Coaches who fill out the Party Cards for their event
- If an error is discovered in Grind, you don't have a mere 12 minutes to correct it before time runs out. You can take 10 - 20 seconds to bring the problem to the DM's attention (or the DM to yours) and enjoy the rest of the hour-long event knowing your blood is being spilled in appropriate amounts.

Agreed. Although, I think we will see more DMs sooner or later, they will be the best, and able to handle the problems. Especially since they have their hands in it from beginning to end.
