Our Halfling Fighter was an quite an asset! I didn't catch his name though since we were all just calling him the halfling during the grind. :) It seemed like every other one of his slides was a crit! And if I remember correctly I think he brought at least 1 monster from max hp to dead with a single hit.

It was nice to be able to connect some forum names with faces.
D&D teaches all the important lessons in life - the low blow, the cheap shot, the back stab, the double cross. - Jerry Marsischky

Let them trap us. We have our swords. - Elric of Melnibone.

You try to get them to play the game, but all they want to do is play the rules. - Ardak Kumerian

I do not love the bright sword for its sharpness, nor the arrow for its swiftness, nor the warrior for his glory. I love only that which they defend - Faramir

Calum (I hope I'm spelling it correctly) did indeed lay some serious smack down on the monsters. He didn't quite take the big blink dog from max to dead (it had suffered some earlier damage from the wizard) but his crazy damage bonus, max damage on the relic slider, and triple damage on crit (yay Dwarf fighter!) was over 100 HP of damage on one slide! Bye bye Bowser. *sniff*

My favorite grind moment -

DM Raven to DM Incognito - Hey, you didn't tell me this board was so slick. (After making her first blocking slide on the dragon board)

LOL

Even better in context:

Fighter: (slides) Whoah, slick board.
Ranger: (slides) everyone, remember this board is FAST!
Paladin: (slides) Holy **** that's slick
Bard: (slides) just as slick as when we went up against Smoak!
Dwarf Fighter: (slides) I tried to go slow and still nearly overshot.
Rogue (slides) Wow, super slick.

Incognito: Guard dog, Master needs some help over here!

Blink dog: (slides, scattering pucks like bowling pins) Holy smokes that board is slick! Eric, why didn't you remind me?!?

LOL
you needed your sweepers to rough up the ice!

Darn those blink dogs! They were the masters at evading my chain lighting scrolls.
Sweet a combat room, we won't take damage!

That sums it up quite well. XD
It was quite wonderful to meet everyone from the forums and to do a bit of trading, and I can honestly say that I will always remember this, my first True Grind (was the rogue, took easily 200+ damage, and lost 3 Nightshade swords, a +2 Flaming Bow, and my armor to the monsters. Plus I was the first to die. It was loads of fun though!)

I had no clue what they were at first, so I lost a flank and a sneak attack to them...I suppose I could learn a thing or two about being sneaky. Dang blink dogs. :P

That was really funny! It's very impressive that you picked up on everything everyone said on our combat board while at the same time you were running the Blink Dog combat :)

I'm pretty sure one or more of Raven's puppies were also responsible for "helping" us get a couple crits too :) Could have been due to the the Astral Beggin' Strips we kept throwing at them when master wasn't looking :-D

I removed player sliders from crits at least twice as often as I bumped them in... but it's entirely possible that someone bribed the dog to bump *into* a crit on one occasion

What really screwed me up was when parties figured out my tactics and had someone slide a "guard rock" in the way, curling style, to prevent the dogs from running interference.
