In 2013 our plans call for us to add an additional adventure to the event. There will be two consecutive adventure modules, and each module will have two variations of either a combat or puzzle orientation. The first module called “Lycans Afoot” tasks the party to travel through a dark forest in search of a tower, while the second module called “Golembane” challenges the party to reach the top of tower.

I just want to start with a thankyou to all that played. I had fun running it.

I hope folks that wanted to play got a chance. I felt like I ran it more this year than last but still didn't run it enough.

Some things that worked better this year:
I bag checked it, so it was availble more often.
I added better rolling wheels so it could move about better.
I removed the non-token prizes in favor of more rares and UltraRares.
- this helped the game be more portable and played faster. People mostly just wanted tokens anyway.
While my speil said "same distrobution as the pack you get when you start" this was actually untrue, it was significantly better, as there were fewer commons and the shot at the URs was better then 1:1000
While the draws were still very random most folks in general seemed to do well and have fun.

Some things that did not go according to plan:
I was supposed to make a all new board and my plotter died and I couldn't. So I had to reuse the board. It worked but it was not in the best of shape so the tokens would get stuck more then they should.
- I plan on having an all new board made of plastic for 2014.

Lighting was even worse this year and I was led to believe the lighting situation would be Improved.
- I plan on brining my own light sources.

The box is real sensitive to angle, so I when I remake the board I'll be building in a stand to keep it at the correct level.

I've given a lot of thought to the height of the board and weather or not I should mount the entire thing on some type of table so Adults don't have to bend over so much to play. Ultimately I think I'm going to leave it as is because any other change will make it much harder for kids to play. For a brief time I had it set up inside the story scape on one of the tables and it was just too high for kids to reach and to me this is unacceptable.

So those are my thoughts.
What are yours?
Did you get a chance to play? Did you have fun? See something that can be improved?

I didn't get a chance to play (again) this year, but at least I got to see you briefly!

Next year I'd love to see some signage with the times for Plinko listed, so I would know when to look for you, and make sure I had some GP on me then.

Same here--I know that you're doing this on your time, and that it might be subject to change, but having signage or a schedule would be helpful. I would have definitely come by to play, but didn't see you on Thursday or Friday.

Thanks for the interest, I'll see what I can do.

Maybe I can get one of those Easels and set it up somewhere with a laminate/poster indicating time frames.

The problem will be where to put it so that it gets read and where can I reliably setup that gets traffic and can the sign indicate location. So far the best place has been just outside the main doors.

I feel a bit like Baba-yaga's hut. You can know where it will be or when it will appear but never both.

I enjoyed trying my luck!

My only suggestion would be to have a chair or stool handy, maybe borrowed from one of the tables. That way you could keep the board on the floor for kids, but adults would be able to better interact with it without hurting their legs.

My 500 gp took a lot of time to plink though, and my knees were complaining near the end. :)

oh yeah :(
Its designed so every play wins at least 1 draw. Typically people do better than that, and its statistically improbable that you will go on a 1to1 streak like you did. But I guess its bound to happen to someone. Also if I recall correctly you're pulls didn't make up for it. :(

But hey there's always next year and your luck can't possibly get worse! :) I would say famous last words but I really think its a true statement.

I've seen the gambit, I watched 1 girl play just once hit the 4 and drew 4 rares and I think my luckiest person got a streak of 7 max draws in a row, with some good draws to follow.

Typically people play twice and win about half a pack of tokens.

I knew I could never run a game where people lost but I still feel bad when people don't do well.

I had awesome fun playing, well worth the price of admission :)

all those unlucky drops and pulls from your treasure box just builds up more positive karma for my token purchase for next year!

I played this year and had a great time! You're an awesome Data by the way. You might remember me - with minimal GP I had 30+ pulls. I didn't pull any purps but had some older tokens from before I started playing in 2012. I had a great time with you. I hope Jeff is paying attention, this is what I was expecting with carnival-esque challenges. I second token karma - even with the awesome token draw box in the main hall, I didn't get anything. Here's to next year! And I hope you do this again. I'll play - GP is ready and I'll be an addict B)
