In 2013 our plans call for us to add an additional adventure to the event. There will be two consecutive adventure modules, and each module will have two variations of either a combat or puzzle orientation. The first module called “Lycans Afoot” tasks the party to travel through a dark forest in search of a tower, while the second module called “Golembane” challenges the party to reach the top of tower.

TOPIC: A great year- a coach's highlights and feedback

A great year- a coach's highlights and feedback 10 years 7 months ago #1

I had a great time at TD this year. I wanted to give some feedback that will likely get lost in the wave of posts on the forums but I’ll try to post anyway.

As a Coach
I had a great time again as a coach. It is so much fun (and frantic at times) doing that job but I really enjoy it. Thanks for letting me continue to do that.
· The STOOLS were the absolute best thing TD has done for coaches ever! Keep the stools. This was the first year I wasn’t limping from sore feet at the end of the first day. Great idea!
· The new laminated character sheets with the picture were great for organizing The sheet was a bit different than the character builder though in that it didn’t have enough ioun stone and charm slots.
· The lights and clips running out issue seems to come up every year but we deal with that. I think the system in place is likely the best one we have. I see other forum posts with suggestions for this so i'll stop here.
· Dan and Will were really great at helping the Coaches get questions answered. They continue to do a great job. I’d get them a megaphone for the training on Wednesday though. Too big of a group to hear anything.
· Certification tests were a great thing to do again.
· Long live the bubbles!

As a player
The dungeons were FANTASTIC this year- better than ever. I loved the GB puzzles- very much involving the entire party to solve but they were solvable. Great job as usual. I thoroughly enjoyed all my runs and so did my daughter.
· True Grind- thank you so much for allowing Eric and Raven to run the late night volunteer Grind. I did it with Molda and 2 others- it was my first Grind and it was fabulous! Eric and Raven are some of the best DMs in the history of TD. They had so much fun and improv going on that the 4 of us really had a blast. Please let them do that again for volunteers. Usually I am working and not able to get a Grind but I will absolutely try to do another next year. Eric and Raven are awesome!
· XP desk- Not sure how to solve this issue. Seems to be something new each year. I know this is discussed elsewhere. Not sure if staffing could be improved or if it is a # of computers problem. I just hate to have new folks have a great experience then have the last thing they experience be a problematic XP desk.
· Great job on the treasure boxes this year. Very much worth it to do lots of runs. I wish I would have done more- and will next year.

Miscellaneous
· Feedback booth- I wonder if it would be a good or bad idea to have an area at the front desk labeled as a feedback area so people who are just exiting can give all sorts of glowing reviews and feedback. I know that runs the risk of complaining. I don’t know if it has been done before but I worry a bit about waiting to get all the feedback on the forums. Less of a chance to make some alterations on the fly to avoid later issues.
· I thought set up went really well. I was also amazed at how fluidly tear-down seemed to go.
· Does anyone use the Adventurer’s Guild area consistently? I like it for the bag check but rarely see folks in there trading or doing things.

I love TD and it is really the only reason I come down from Carmel to Gen Con. Thank you and all the Directors for making it another great experience. Looking forward to next year already!
