In 2013 our plans call for us to add an additional adventure to the event. There will be two consecutive adventure modules, and each module will have two variations of either a combat or puzzle orientation. The first module called “Lycans Afoot” tasks the party to travel through a dark forest in search of a tower, while the second module called “Golembane” challenges the party to reach the top of tower.

That was my Room.

Basically, the white ropes formed a "V" and you had to skip every other peg. The black ropes did a "V" through each white rope but did not skip pegs when putting them together. The black ropes, when all attached to the white ropes, would become taut and form the white ropes into the star.

As long as I saw all the ropes were correct on their pegs, but maybe a little sloppy I would say something to the players to the effect of and a little silly

"It looks like you haaaaaave it... it just needs a liiiiitttttle neatening..." Every Party I did that for then used their hands to make it look pretty.

One Party took my little comment a tad too far and was just about to start from scratch and take all the ropes off the pegs. I commented and saved them just in time. LOL!!
"It's treason then."

I know there was one group where I forgot to put the Force Cage up.

As for the Magimagnetic effect, it could be negated by Bracelets of the Tinkerer

Adeya wrote: Agreed. If they just filmed a walk though of every room and then later added the sound of two people discussing the video in quiet room it would be much easier to hear.

1. And the Guardian fight was way more complicated than they stated.

2. How did your group try to solve the rope puzzle?

The audio from when we filmed the rooms was removed during editing, so changing that would not help the audio. Besides, there is no extra time with the dungeon up to film, other than when groups are going through. Final touches are added Thurs morning as the groups start, and tear down starts as the last groups are going through.

The voice over is done at Gencon, because that is the only time everyone is all together, and the lead DM's have to keep an eye on things. It takes several short sessions to get all the audio.

All that said, your point is well taken. I tried to filter out some of the background, but with very limited success. Part of the answer will be better microphones, which is the plan for next year. Directional mic's would help a lot. We try to make improvements every year, and comments like this help us to focus where we need to.

Thank you
Tom

I was another DM for this room, and i agree with Ro-Gan. I also looked more for form then the final look. I just mentioned "with a little adjusting."

Bah, on Normal mode our DM forgot which round we were on, applied the Cage and did Push damage (killed our Rogue I was trying to heal that round). Just very lost....

On the Puzzle side (Golembane)....I'm looking at the grid of icons and I'm seeing six of both Fire and Sacred? Is the grid wrong since the question is which has the most icons, with an answer of 'Fire'?

We had one person each memorize the locations of a single icon. The guy who memorized Fire and the guy who memorized Sacred almost came to blows arguing over who had the most until the DM stepped up and said they were both correct. I think they scared the DM though. We had to convince him we were alright since all 10 of us were friends and coworkers. Funniest thing I'd seen in a while...

We did blocks of 4 or everyone. Only one guy had issues. Seriously? 4 blocks, focus.

we too all took 4 blocks with great success on that puzzle. We got every question right and the DM (at that time) said we had the fastest time he had seen for that room. It was pretty amazing team work for a group who didn't sign up together.
