In 2013 our plans call for us to add an additional adventure to the event. There will be two consecutive adventure modules, and each module will have two variations of either a combat or puzzle orientation. The first module called “Lycans Afoot” tasks the party to travel through a dark forest in search of a tower, while the second module called “Golembane” challenges the party to reach the top of tower.

TOPIC: New Moon Festival 2013 True Dungeon Review :-)

We tried to get one on our sealed deck run (in a corner away from any monster/puzzle) and were told we couldn't. Then I see some people had their own personal photographer running with them in the dungeon. Please keep it consistent.

Other than the photos which Fritz has taken, We haven't been allowed to take a photo in the Dungeon in two years - which is a bit of an annoyance after seeing how many people took photos last year. You can see in my "suggested improvements" the suggestion of allowing photographs. Personally I think you should be able to get your photograph with any of the monsters, or any of the puzzle rooms as long as you aren't photographing the puzzles, if you have time.

Regarding Fritz, she isn't "our own personal photographer", she is the official True Dungeon photographer, and she usually photographs a few runs each year (and does a great job!).

Honestly I can see no flashes but I never understood no photos at all rule. I don't get the spoilers argument either, IMO if you don't want spoilers contaminating your run don't go online looking for photos. Really the only place I can see a reason to ban photography is the training room for obvious reasons.

You ever been somewhere when they say "no flash photography" but they don't prevent photos entirely? 80% or more of the cameras are flashing. :P

It took a wee bit of sorting to find the right tokens in each room but that was part of the fun. Imagine if you had to search your bag in the midst of battle for the one particular scroll, healing potion, etc. People are still getting knocked around why you try and find the item you need. It adds flavor I think and a bit of planning ahead of time to reward perhaps those that organize well ;)

Or get a token sash from Binia or a token wallet from Molda! All the cool kids have them!

Maybe TD can market a special badge or token holder so all players have an option to display those tokens that DMs ask for. I have ideas for making my own this year but something pre-made would be popular I think.

I wish this were the case in our experience this year. It seemed especially common for the DM to ask to see tokens--and I agree that it does slow things down a lot. I don't have a good solution (as I agree that it shouldn't be handled on the party card), but it can be time consuming and frustrating. In one or two cases it seemed like the DMs may have trying to subtly disincentivize the use of these tokens.

We had to pull tokens out a lot - sometimes multiple tokens per combat at different times. It often cost us a significant portion of our room's time. Last year was even worse though, so it's trending in the right direction :)
