In 2013 our plans call for us to add an additional adventure to the event. There will be two consecutive adventure modules, and each module will have two variations of either a combat or puzzle orientation. The first module called “Lycans Afoot” tasks the party to travel through a dark forest in search of a tower, while the second module called “Golembane” challenges the party to reach the top of tower.

TOPIC: Gen Con Question, Exhibit hall A

Re: Gen Con Question, Exhibit hall A 10 years 7 months ago #13

Mike Steele wrote: The article I read which said that GENCON attendance went up 20% to over 49,000 people (and up an incredible 75% in 5 years) said that GENCON took up the entire Convention Center except for Exhibit Hall A. And that next year it would be using Exhibit Hall A, and it was unsure how it would expand after that. It also said every hotel room within 40 miles was taken.

Some of the sellout probably was also bikers, who were also in town the same weekend. (My cab drivers almost hit several of them.)

That's daunting. They're committed to the Indy Convention Center until 2020 .
Have you looked it up in the TDb ?

That is indeed an eyebrow raiser. With Wizards likely returning to the vendor hall big time next year to push the new D&D edition, I suspect floorspace rates to go up for the poor independent publishers and niche game organizers. :\

I actually suspect they'll keep WOTC in that separate hall and just be like "HOLY CRAP GUYS! D&D IS SO COOL IT GETS ITS OWN HALL! YAAAAY!"

As Picc said re: hotel rooms, the B&Bs in Indianapolis are almost certainly not included in the official hotel room count, so that's a potential place to look. I'm married to Embassy Suites, though. Free booze, free breakfast 4evah.

Im not sure if this had an impact or not but Fringe Fest was going on all week on Mass Ave., including the weekend. Lots of stuff for sure. You should use hall A for the Sci-Fi themed expansion for True Dungeon called "Boarding Party". 7 rooms of pure sci-fi, alien engaging excitement. You would have another gold mine there :).

I wouldn't mind if they squeezed out some exhibitors if it meant they'd widen the aisles or do something about the ridiculous overcrowding in there. I need to find a friend with one of those motorized chairs and get them to clear a path in front of me with a cowcatcher.
