In 2013 our plans call for us to add an additional adventure to the event. There will be two consecutive adventure modules, and each module will have two variations of either a combat or puzzle orientation. The first module called “Lycans Afoot” tasks the party to travel through a dark forest in search of a tower, while the second module called “Golembane” challenges the party to reach the top of tower.

A Rogues' Game

WANTED:
Rogues, Thieves, and Pickpockets.

As the Guild Master of your local Thieves' Guild, I have a challenge for you. There are a few questionable types loitering in this tavern who need their pockets picked. Present yourself to me, and if you're found worthy of membership in this noble and honourable institution, I will give you a few simple instructions and access to some tools of the trade.

Practice your art carefully! This is a test of subtlety and stealth - not some back alley mugging! The "mark" must not even notice your presence. If you are discovered, you will no doubt be exposed, and the local denizens will not smile on your actions. In fact, given the nature of the crowd, it wouldn't surprise me if you were forced to pay some penalty, or perform some task for their amusement. You have been warned.

Seek me out, if you are interested.

Some quick comments:

YES, there are UR prizes to be won! Jeff is kindly donating one of the 2013 URs, plus he has donated some GP to enhance the prize purse. I've got a couple URs from previous years which will go into the pouch as well. There's also lots of rares & healing to be won, and maybe some hard-to-find tokens from previous years (Feedback Loop, Elixir of Vitality, etc.)

There is NO COST to play this game. You just have to be in the tavern/story scape during the game times, and find me. ("Find the Guildmaster in the Dark" is always the first challenge ;) )

IF you are available to volunteer for this event, I am looking for 2 or 3 more individuals who can play "Marks" for the game. This year, in an effort to keep the Storyscape as immersive as possible, we are trying to keep all our volunteers *costumed*. If you want to help out (and are available during the times listed) but don't have a costume, let me know and I can bring something for you. And yes, there is some token compensation for playing a Mark for the game : )

i will have to come up with a new way to get you this year..last year i used a decoy. He distracted you while I sneaky and got the master

Good to see the guild will again be making its presence known.

On the contrary a well established guild and by extension the city itself can only benefit from the knowledge that the guild is present and operating. Since it would likely be impossible to stamp out the larcenous arts altogether and place an undue tax on the city guard to even try the guild instead offers a critical service in the form of regulation.

Another way of looking at it is that the obligation of the guild to protect its membership by preventing unauthorized theft sort of makes it an unofficial branch of law-enforcement which I think we can all agree is critical to the orderly operation of a city this size.

I can't speak for the entire Guild, since each individual's reasons for joining are as unique as they are. However, I feel the GreyHawke Thieves' Guild is a supportive branch of the Health & Safety Department.

Do you know how many injuries every year are associated with lugging around vast quantities of tokens? Back strain, wrist strain, pulled muscles, not to mention trips and falls as people stumble over satchel of tokens left in dark corners. Twisted ankles, repetitive stress injuries, contusions and abrasions from dropping chests of treasure on ones foot.... these injures can ALL be prevented (or lessened) through one simple measure:

Equal Distribution of Wealth!

I started laughing so hard at my desk, I got disapproving looks from everyone (even if I am their boss--they know I have weird tendencies this time of year). I think I should become a multiclassed Bard/Rogue.
