Rogue backstab - bladed vs. blunt weapon?
In 2013 our plans call for us to add an additional adventure to the event. There will be two consecutive adventure modules, and each module will have two variations of either a combat or puzzle orientation. The first module called “Lycans Afoot” tasks the party to travel through a dark forest in search of a tower, while the second module called “Golembane” challenges the party to reach the top of tower.

Can a rogue backstab with a blunt weapon? It's somewhat counter-intuitive, but I couldn't find anything to the contrary in the DM's guide. Thanks!

it is called sneak attack, not backstab..so any melee weapon will work

The best weapon for sneak attack is hands down nightshade's +2 short sword, however, lazlo's assessment is correct - any weapon will suffice.

Next year Rogues are suppose to get a Bow too! hopefully that dosent change in Token Development...

You don't need to *hit* anything with it. You just need to wear it on your hip to inspire terror in monsters and town guardsmen alike.

It says "See this slick, sleek, sliver of steel? I could slide it between your ribs without a second thought, so don't piss me off."

A Nightshade short sword makes you the envy of would-be rogues everywhere.

(I'm also told it enhances your sex appeal, and performance between the sheets.)

I will add that it makes me 6 inches taller while equipped :)
