Guys, seriously, just don't "sell" at the convention hall. Period. The security guards are ON TOP of this. Tuesday, Wednesday, halfway through Sunday, whatever.

Just don't do it.

for the way too many time..walk across the street..stop looking for loop holes in convention hall.
they are just looking for a reason...take 10 minutes walk across the street..

Ask yourself this question: Would I rather simply walk out of the convention center to conduct my transaction or get kicked out of Gen Con?

I agree with that advice, but it just applies to selling tokens/items, right? Not to trades.

Trade tokens for tokens all you want just don't pull out the wallet for anything.

To kind of put in perspective the level of paranoia the security at GenCon has, my RPG demo kit is inside a lockbox just because it's a convenient size, durable and easy to transport (if a bit heavy...).

My second year at GenCon, I was working a booth and doing my RPG demo at a nearby table because the booth was full. A security guard came up and insisted on checking out the demo kit to make sure that I wasn't taking money for running demos. And this was the way they approached an exhibitor about 10 feet from a booth.

There are a lot of ways around things.

Last year I set up my cash transfers in advance. I knew what I was paying someone and where/when the meetup was supposed to be. I made sure to be in a public area with lots of witnesses and I put the cash in an intermediary ahead of time... say a program guide for GenCon?

Additional thoughts: Maybe hide your badge while doing this - and maybe dont do this inside of the CC as well. Loosing your badge would suck.

Just do it in the middle of a TD run. Probably won't get caught there.

I agree with Lazlo. If you are going to do it don't do it on convention grounds. Remember to take your badge off as well. I prefer trading for gold, tokens and drinking stories.
