In 2013 our plans call for us to add an additional adventure to the event. There will be two consecutive adventure modules, and each module will have two variations of either a combat or puzzle orientation. The first module called “Lycans Afoot” tasks the party to travel through a dark forest in search of a tower, while the second module called “Golembane” challenges the party to reach the top of tower.

How are we going to make plans to kidnap Smak and make off with all his tokens if you keep advertising the Dirty Deed Association in public?

... or, wait... did you mean the other DDA... the Dungeon Delvers Anonymous group which happens to hold its dinner the same evening? yeah, I will be busy attending that one, too.

Just curious... why is the DDA so secretive and elite? Seems rather counter-intuitive to the whole TD community ideals.

I fly out Monday too, but I imagine the exodus will start fairly quickly Sunday afternoon. people that live a few hour drive away are not going to stay an extra night just to trade tokens. If we want it to be accessable, we should pick a time soon after the last run ends on Sunday. Say, 4pm?

I think you're reading too much into the "A". The DDA is no more anonymous that are members of Tokenholics Anonymous . I think the title is just a little word play on other _____ Anonymous groups. The fact that DDA members wear sashes indicating their membership proves they're open about being part of the group.
Have you looked it up in the TDb ?

Heya Fizz :)

First off, I apologize if I came across as trying to be secretive about the DDA. My loud shout of "Shh! It's sekret!" was more to draw attention to the fact that it was not, in fact, secret. (If it was any kind of secret, I'd have emailed Druegar to alter his post)

Second, while I can't argue that the DDA does sometimes seem like an elite group (many of us are long-time players and thus higher up in the XP ranks and/or very experienced at playing our chosen classes) we all agree that elitism goes against the TD ideal.

To fight that elitism, many of our group actively volunteer with TD, to help teach new players (eg: TD 101), or with Coaching, or listening to people's comments&concerns in the Exit room, or being available in the Tavern/storyscape to answer questions, or (in the past) providing a token shop aimed at getting new players geared for their runs. We enjoy going on runs with our members, but we also invite new players/non-DDAers/people we meet at GenCon/various forumites to join us when we have slots open.

If you (or anyone else) has any questions about the DDA (which, as Druegar pointed out, is really just another group of players, like Team Synergy, or Team Token) please feel free to ask. PM's are now working I'm told, or you can hit me up in person at GenCon. If you are uncomfortable talking with me (or cant catch me as a dash madly between activities) Druegar is probably available to field questions; Kandasea enjoys talking about the DDA; Dr Unknown is enthusiastic about talking to people on all sorts of TD-related topics, and most of us are very open about our participation in any number of True Dungeon-related activities.

They say the first step of the program is acknowledging you have a problem :)

Well, our "problem" is that we all love True Dungeon. A lot. I think many forumites can relate on that point!

Hey Raven :)

Wow that's a lot to respond to! I wouldn’t say I have any problem asking you directly at all (other than not being fast enough to actually catch you between events) in fact for the most part you and Druegar are model TD Citizens and both couldn’t be more helpful if you wanted to be =)

I did not realize how open you guys were to inquiries, due in part that in previous years I had been told very bluntly by a few players that the DDA is an invite only group. I sort of avoided making any inquiries based on that impression and I presumed "the first rule of DDA is we dont talk about the DDA". I will have to apologize in my generalizing statement - clearly not all of the DDA must be represented by those few players.

I also figured most of you guys were volunteers and fraternizing with (enemy) players may be frowned upon ;) Depending on how next year pans out - I may be volunteering for the first time =D

As far as admitting problems, I think being an active and participating member of this forum is a lot like attending AA meetings on a regular basis... though maybe it's closer to going to a Bar than AA...

Anywho, thanks for the contact info for some of your members. I'll actively look you guys up the first year I take the plunge on volunteering.

Thanks again, Raven and I hope to run into some of you guys again this year.

PS you totally broke the first rule of Fight Club... err uh DDA ;)

Hmm, I happened to be in the food court last year playing games with some friends and managed a couple of nice trades when I saw everyone with their tokens.

I have dinner reservations at Buca di Beppo on Wednesday night at 6:30p this year though... If I can still move after stuffing my face, I'll probably come by.
