In 2013 our plans call for us to add an additional adventure to the event. There will be two consecutive adventure modules, and each module will have two variations of either a combat or puzzle orientation. The first module called “Lycans Afoot” tasks the party to travel through a dark forest in search of a tower, while the second module called “Golembane” challenges the party to reach the top of tower.

Not all over Gencon, but within the TD environment, even outside the dungeon.

Assume everyone is there to have fun. Don't do anything to diminish someone else's fun, unless they are violating this rule. You might try telling such people in in your best Elizabethan accent, "Prithee good sirrah (or "madame," as the case may be), for the good of the realm, cease such base pizzle-headed behaviour." (You have to pronounce "behavior" with the "u" for full mideaval flavor...)

This.

You will, without a glimmer of doubt, have more fun if you treat everyone around you kindly and with respect and encourage everyone else to do the same. The dungeon is stressful for players (that comment about time is spot on) and also for volunteers. There's a lot to do every 12 minutes.

So, my best advice is to get wrapped up, immerse yourself, and be a good human being. All of us are in this together.

PS - Something that came up in another thread of which you should be aware is that last year there was a room where the party had to choose how to respond to an NPC. It was an honest choice. You could fight her, or you could read her actions as clues to a puzzle. When you walk into a room, take it all in and do some thinking before reacting. Yes, time is short, but it could save you significant HP damage.

True Dungeon occupies one entire hall in the convention center. It's possible that clues could be found anywhere in the TD hall that are open to the general population*, but highly unlikely in other parts of the CC.

Have you looked it up in the TDb ?

Uhhh, you do realize that "sirrah" was a contemptuous form of address?

But if that is where you intended to go, try this:

Amend that: clues could be anywhere in the storyscape or dungeon. Please don't come back into the volunteer-only areas (unless it's your shift and you're supposed to). Jeff would never put clues in off-bounds areas or consider encouraging players to run around backstage.

It'd ruin the magic for y'all.

LOL, well, you'd think that would go without saying, but I can not say that i've not seen stranger things when it involved geeks and their chance for epic loots.

So here's a question, if someone is causing trouble for a party what kind of action can the party take? Lets say we get in a group and someone is being purposely obnoxious, can the party members attack a team member or vote them out? I'm sure this is unlikely, but i can't imagine its never come up before. It would be really terrible if you put so much time and money into something and had it ruined by someone being a troll (no offence intended to all you volunteer troll NPCs) you should be trolling about like no other! :-)

There is no PvP in TD.

There is no mechanism for voting a player out. But if a player won't stop being obstreperous, talk to the DM and if necessary, ask the DM to contact a director.

If the player crosses the line into harassment, their sorry ass will get the boot. Again, talk to the DM/director about that.
