In 2013 our plans call for us to add an additional adventure to the event. There will be two consecutive adventure modules, and each module will have two variations of either a combat or puzzle orientation. The first module called “Lycans Afoot” tasks the party to travel through a dark forest in search of a tower, while the second module called “Golembane” challenges the party to reach the top of tower.

Trying to remember which one that was...care to refresh my poor memory?

The magic pearl was actually the giant squid's egg. If you had a way to talk to the squid to find that out, you could give the pearl to the squid, and bypass the fight.

Giving the egg to the Dire Squid meant you didn't have to fight it.

I figured this out at the start of the room, and tossed the pearl to the squid...

Then the party just kind of sat there for 12 minutes not knowing what to do. The combat classes were kind of ticked at me. :(

Ahh yes, was playing with a newbie group and the druid didn't interact with the squid...so we ended up fighting.
