In 2013 our plans call for us to add an additional adventure to the event. There will be two consecutive adventure modules, and each module will have two variations of either a combat or puzzle orientation. The first module called “Lycans Afoot” tasks the party to travel through a dark forest in search of a tower, while the second module called “Golembane” challenges the party to reach the top of tower.

TOPIC: True Dungeon 101 right before start time

True Dungeon 101 right before start time 10 years 11 months ago #1

I and 2 of my friends are doing TDA for the first time this year. We have a Thursday 7:24pm start time for Lycans (Combat) but have the True Dungeon 101 seminar that ends at 7:00pm. Would it be better to skip the seminar and show up earlier for our first ever adventure or would be get more out of going to the seminar and only showing up 15 minutes or so before the event? Is there anyone else going at this time too? Thanks for any advice.

Go to the seminar, and cut out 10 mins early. That should be enough time to do what you need to in the prepping room.

You should be fine getting in the seminar. If you don't have a lot of tokens character creation will be quick. Just make sure you get to the Dungeon as quick as possible and be prepared to be a little flexible with your classes. Other then that welcome to the TD =)

Agree with Darkangel here - If you really are concerned - drop the last 10 min of TD 101 as that is typically in the time reserved for Q&A anyway.

They say that the best weapon is the one you never have to use. I respectfully disagree. I prefer the weapon you only have to use once! Oh - and if you really need to think about whether you're going to use the fireball or the + umpty staff of butt-whooping - you're likely to find yourself full of arrows, or fangs, or nasty knives & swords and such. Don't think - just shoot!

Thanks I feel better then. I did buy some token packs for us ahead of time so that we could be somewhat prepared. I appreciate the advice. Not sure what good newb classes would be but hopefully we will be there in time to pick some good ones.

They are all good! Just depends on what you like.

You can view the player cards here and get a good idea what each class can do:
