In 2013 our plans call for us to add an additional adventure to the event. There will be two consecutive adventure modules, and each module will have two variations of either a combat or puzzle orientation. The first module called “Lycans Afoot” tasks the party to travel through a dark forest in search of a tower, while the second module called “Golembane” challenges the party to reach the top of tower.

I think everyone should stop telling me what to do. :P

A reality that I, and others, face when volunteering (this will be year two helping as an NPC - and no, I will never post spoilers) is sexual harassment from players. Sometimes it's highly inappropriate comments, and sometimes it has been known to take the form of unwelcome touching. (It's worth noting that any touching in this context is unwelcome. Even my fiance will not be allowed to touch me when he comes through TD.)

NPCs ask our DMs to help run interference, which can often be effective, but you can take a role in keeping it fun, as well. Take a stand in your party about what's appropriate. Speak up if a fellow player crosses the line or suggests doing so. Help set a tone that does not demean anyone.

I understand the impulse to let go of inhibitions and just have fun. It's about the experience; it's about camaraderie. But, don't let that fun get out of hand to be hurtful.

Thanks so much in advance for keeping up the respect. ;)

I want to emphatically +LIKE this post.

Gamers get a bad rep for being socially maladjusted folks with no clue how to behave around women. While not true of ALL gamers, there is an unhealthy tendency in the community to turn a blind eye to the ones who are, or refuse to stand up to rude friends, (because among geeks friendship is often sacrosanct) and thus socially maladjusted folks get their bad habits reinforced instead of learning what's OK and what's not.

---> PLEASE, if you see your friends groping a volunteer/taking inappropriate pictures like upskirts/downbluse/bootyshots without their consent/making any girl uncomfortable, then TELL THEM THIS IS NOT OKAY. It doesn't matter if it's a TD volunteer or a booth babe or a random girl you meet in the dealers hall. <---

I know some guys will say "But if she doesn't like it, she should ask me to stop" or "She should report it to a DM" but it's not the girl's job to spend her time & energy policing the rude guys. In fact, many girls have found that raising a complaint actually earns her even more unwanted attention or derogatory comments (ie, "Don't be such a bitch" or "Wow, you're way too sensitive"). Plus maladjusted jerks often won't listen to girls or authority figures because they're used to being picked on/being discriminated against. So it's up to the friends & party members of the offender to explain to him that we - as a group of gamers who want to see more girls attend more Cons - do not condone these actions.

If I'm around (which I will be 50% of the time), let me know. I will GLADLY "inform the offender his behavior is unacceptable" if you catch my drift. Normally I'm a very friendly guy, but I'm big and I can get the creepy little pervs to very quickly back off.

If I'm not around, call any coordinator or director. Harassment, sexual or otherwise, is not tolerated in TD.
Have you looked it up in the TDb ?

Isn't it kind of unfair to draw this anti-groping line in the sand now? What about those of us who never groped all those years? Shouldn't we get one freebe now or something?
