In 2013 our plans call for us to add an additional adventure to the event. There will be two consecutive adventure modules, and each module will have two variations of either a combat or puzzle orientation. The first module called “Lycans Afoot” tasks the party to travel through a dark forest in search of a tower, while the second module called “Golembane” challenges the party to reach the top of tower.

TOPIC: Should I attempt True Grind

Should I attempt True Grind 10 years 11 months ago #1

It intrigues me but I am not sure how I would do and I would not want to disappoint the rest of the players. I usually do Druid and have purps.

Any words of wisdom for me? Should I try it? If I do what is important for me to bring as Druid?

i would say try to be 5th level if you are not running with anyone you know...other than that look on here and see if someone needs a person after tickets go on sale. then you have an idea who you are running with. If you just show up, you might have 3 people wanting to play druid

Kristine,

Grind is exactly that. Its a lot of fun, but fast and furious. I say go for it. Just be quick in your decision making, in the game. 1 hour goes by fast.

Speaking strictly for myself, I would never do Grind with a PUG. Grind requires teamwork and skill at combat. When I say combat, I'm not so much referring to the ability to hit an AC target, but rather the ability to quickly step up, slide, and GTF out of the way so the person standing behind you can do the same. It's been my experience that PUGs rarely have the level of cohesion Grind needs.

My advice to you would be to get together with some vets here on the forums. Your chances of having fun will be greatly increased.
Have you looked it up in the TDb ?
Please post TDb corrections in this thread .

PUG = Purely Unknown Group?

I can guess GTF ;)

Pick Up Group.

But you nailed the other one
D&D teaches all the important lessons in life - the low blow, the cheap shot, the back stab, the double cross. - Jerry Marsischky

Let them trap us. We have our swords. - Elric of Melnibone.

You try to get them to play the game, but all they want to do is play the rules. - Ardak Kumerian

I do not love the bright sword for its sharpness, nor the arrow for its swiftness, nor the warrior for his glory. I love only that which they defend - Faramir

I did grind on normal last year with a pug and it went ok. One guy fell through the wall and a few folks died but we won in the end and had a blast. Honestly since there are no stamps in grind I say check it out anyway you can its loads of fun even if you get killed.

Do it!! If Incognito is feeling nice he'll even give you completion tokens (hope they are doing that this year?)

Additionally, after you get your tickets paid for post event registration, you can always open a forum thread in the appropriate subfoum and try to meet up with potential adventurers to discuss strategies and builds before the run. That way you wont be blind sided when showing up (assuming people respond to the post).

Either way, it’s a blat and everything said above this post is dead on!

Its worth doing if for no other reason then to wish all combat ran as smoothly. Its amazing to sit and watch the speed and efficency.

I had a ton of fun on my runs. I got in 2 with part of my group.
Sweet a combat room, we won't take damage!
