That's what I was told on the phone when I ordered mine. It was a good strategy - I upped my number of bags from 3 to 10(12).

The main token page still says "but each kit will have at least one special item..."

If that is true, that will definitely change the value of the tokens. But to my knowledge, the distribution will stay the same (as advertised on the TD site). Can Jeff or someone in the know, comment on this?

It's entirely possible I misinterpreted what was said, and the "richer" bags are now standard. However, I thought this first run was richer as a 'reward to the board members' or a phrase to that effect. I will await an answer from Jeff et al. If not, I have egg on my face as that's what I posted on the Gencon thread lol.

I re-read the token page and I took it to be a standard for all bag sales - now and at the con. The bonus to early buyers is the free shipping and golden ticket offer that may stay in effect until CON - and then even the free shipping may last until the tokens are sold out - but Jeff has the say of course.

Of course, this is just the first 500 bags. The rest of the bags after this (including the ones sold at the con) will only have either one rare or very rare. Supposedly.

Well, when I ordered more bags from Lori today (like everyone else lol), I asked about this again, to make sure my impression of my first conversation was correct. Lori guessed later runs would be less “rich�, as that what was discussed before this special first run. However, she did state that Jeff changes his mind a lot, and so nothing was definite.

So, it seems to be on the safe side, if you are going to buy more bags, do it now hehe.

Hrm..... very interesting(?) although I'm not sure what exactly could be done. One possibility is 7/1/1 for commons/rares/VRs. But under the arrangement, rares would increase in value (less available).

Can Lori and/or Jeff or anyone comment on what was meant by this?

Someone asked me today if we would be doing the same "mix" with the next run of tokens. What I said (which was quoted pretty accurately by "coffee") is that INITIALLY when we had decided to do this "special pre-con" run of tokens we were going to make it a little "richer" run of tokens for the TD fans. My understanding was that future printing runs of tokens could be the same, could be less rare, or more rare in each token bag. We have changed to 10 tokens per bag and my understanding is that it will stay at 10. HOWEVER, like I told "coffee"...Jeff changes his mind quite OFTEN (we call him Captain Chaos around the office), so our INITIAL plan is subject to change.

When he gets back in the office today he may try to comment on this officially, but I would still say that it may be subject to change, even if he OFFICIALLY comments!

Currently, there are 10 tokens per bag with a 7/2/1 mix. Assuming you are going to stay with at least 1 VR and 1R token, then it seems like the only option for "less rare" would be 8/1/1. But this would increase the value of Rares (essentially making them VRs). So that doesnt seem to be an option.

Unless, of course, you are considering 7/3 with a chance of 7/2/1. If this is the case, that would be very interesting making the VRs even rarer.

Last year was 8/1, with the 1 being a chance of R or VR, correct?

They could always do an 8/2, with some chance of one (or both) of the 2 being a VR.

Given how quick the first printing is going to sell out, my guess is the second printing will be identical.

If they annound that the second printing is different, I bet the first printing sells out in minutes after the announcement.

It is amazing when you think about it. The tokens have been out for a week and they are nearly gone.

Actually, if they announced that the second printing has *slightly different* tokens (a few different Very Rares for example), I can imagine another run on them lol.
