TOPIC: Carrying my tokens, questions from a newb.

Carrying my tokens, questions from a newb. 14 years 10 months ago #1

OK so Im new to this whole TD thing, but I have bought a good amount of tokens I have maybe 600-700 tokens and I have them stored in a small box with divders in them, but the case is rather heavy. How many of these tokens should I bring? And does anyone have any info on a good way to store them for my runs? Or any other info that might be good for a new person with his tokens?

There are a lot of different ways people bring tokens on their runs. For me, I bring them in a 3 Ring Binder I got at Target, that zips up (to help prevent tokens from being lost). I bring tokens for our entire party in the binder, I have a page or two of tokens for each character (other than Monk, we don't play Monk), plus a couple of pages for consumable tokens and gear tokens.

For the plastic token pages (which I ordered from True Dungeon, and you can probably also get at various hobby shops), I staple in the "permanent" tokens which I don't need to remove from the binder, like Ioun Stones, armor, etc. For the tokens that I need to remove from the binder, like weapons and consumables, I have velcro stuck at the top of the pockets so I can get the tokens out, and have them securely fastened while they are there.

The binder is really filling up with tokens, so in a year or two it's going to be a real challenge fitting all the tokens for everyone in it.

Piece of advice, if you're wanting token holder pages from TD buy them the first day. They sell out pretty quickly.

Kim

I'm having trouble visualizing that. I'm writing this from work and my pages are at home, but from what I recall, there's very little room above the token on those pages. How to you get velcro in there? I almost asked if you can share a picture of it, but then I remembered the moratorium on images....
Have you looked it up in the TDb ?
Please post TDb corrections in this thread .

I use the adhesive velcro that comes in rolls, and cut a very thin slice of velcro to go on either side of the top of the pocket. It doesn't take much velcro to securely hold the pockets together. It is pretty time-consuming to cut the little slices of velcro and get them stuck properly on the pocket. Originally I was going to do all the tokens that way, but once I saw how long it was taking, I stapled all the ones I could, and just velcroed the rest. =)
