If you have the ring of fire elemental command or the dragonscale set, does a potion or other ring of fire resistance add to your protection? If so, how?

it seems like it would. my understanding is 2 of the same ring will not stack. multiple bonuses from different sources should be fine.<br /><br />somebody with more knowledge, please correct me if i'm wrong.

I can't comment on True Dungeon, but I can say that D&D has typically always acknowledged them as the same type of bonus, of which the higher resistance would apply. So its pretty much up to Jeff at this point.

<br /><br />Yeah, that is important. Division before subtraction? Round up or down?<br /><br />Also would a combination of the Potion of Fire Resistance and the Ring of Fire Resistance result in taking zero fire damage or is it half of half (becoming a quarter)?

It's not been decided. I remember Dave saying that a clear procedure for this sort of thing is one of the things he's going to get ironed out for gencon's DM training.

I would think that if stacking remains permitted, it would be diminishing returns (the first item knocks it down 50%, the second item knocks down the result another 50% - effectively 75% down from the original total, and so on....)
