And don't forget that you are basically heaving an evil artifact around to do damage.

That might actually come back to haunt you at some point...

That's the second time I heard you mention that......
but would the Morally flexible rogue have a Huge issue with that?

Um, wouldn't the Dagger of Venom, Ring of Iuz, and Drow Blade Venom be considered "evil" as well? And the Hand of Glory is rather gruesome too.

Yes, but I daresay that only the HoG and Ring of Iuz would be considered 'artifacts' per se and artifacts are semi-notorious for having/developing minds of their own at the worst times.

Yay for fellow vball player!!! Hmmmm that would be a rather dangerous game of vball if played with a skull of doom or an orb of acid. Ouch!

My HoP's have shown a very stubborn streak for not giving me any PURP's in my token draws, but I'm trying to change their minds =)

Hmmm.

1% of all bags of tokens contain a purple. If we assume (and I'm sure this is a large asumption) that Jeff tries to keep a similar ratio in the draws then what we have is a mean of 100 tokens per purple. Assuming you maximized your horn and got every treasure draw, it'd be 6 extra tokens per run, yielding an average of 1 purp draw every 17 runs. Since it's unlikely that you could max every run, a far more likely numebr of bonus tokens would be 3-4 per if you used the HoP each time. That would give us a purp every 29 runs on average.

Lets see...HoPs came out in 07, right? So there's been 2 gencon indy's, 1 gencon socal, and 1 true realm. Even with only maximized runs, you would need to go through 4-5 runs per event to even reach the lowest threshold for liklihood of a purp. Drop it down to 3-4 bonus tokens and we're looking at 7-8 runs per event.

All in all, I don't think anyone who hasn't gotten a purp yet has to worry that the odds are futzing with them as far as bonus HoP draws go.

Eh, I doubt the same ratio is in the draws.

If you recall, there were only 4 Purples deposited for True Realm (but well over 400 tokens total).

In fact, JimC and I each had about 50 draws individually (neither of us get any Purples). So that's already 100 draws from only 2 people. (I did 7 runs and had the Horn of Plenty).
Well, it's actually 1% of all bags contain a UR. Each bag contains 10 so the chances per token is one tenth of 1 percent or one draw in 1000. That would be the true ratio I guess. I advanced it up to 1% since the boxes seemed to be just reds and ingredients for the most part but that was probably not right. So I guess we would need 1000 draws to get 1 purp on average.

I wonder if the ratios were the same both days. We did all of our draws on Saturday - maybe all the cool PURPs had been pulled out by then, and the boxes replenished with just Rares & Ingredients?

I wonder if it would be incentive for people to do more runs at True Realm if Jeff threw one Golden Ticket for GENCON in the token box... =)

I saw better draws on SAT...1-2 boots of warmpth, and 1-2 PURPS...can't remember what they were.

I also had better ingredient draws on SAT.

I did get really good Ingredient pulls from the boxes, can't complain there. I think it was VERY generous of Jeff not to put commons or uncommons in the boxes. I think we pulled a Censer of Sacrifice and maybe a Goblet of Healing out of the boxes too (out of maybe 100 token pulls from our group). We'd have had a lot more Token Pulls, but our group bought about 12 of the Mugs, 1 or 2 for everyone =)
