2009 Tokens are ALMOST SOLD OUT! 15 years 2 weeks ago #1

I just wanted to drop you a quick note that we are getting very close to selling out of the 2009 tokens. We are keeping some back to sell at Gen Con Indy, but the online inventory won't last much longer. It could be tomorrow if we get a LARGE order or as late as Monday-Tuesday (after event tickets are offered). I just thought I would let the Forum faithful know in case some were thinking about buying one last batch.

And let me apologize again for screwing up the tokens AGAIN this year. It looks like we will be sold out right at the time when event tickets go on sale. Doh! <Palm to forehead> I think last year we sold out at the end of May. This is probably costing the event a good bit of funding. I thought that with the economy that we would sell less tokens this year, but the response has been even better than last year to date. Go figure.

Anyway, thank you all for the awesome support you give True Dungeon / True Realm, and thank you for allowing me to live out my dream of building cool dungeons.

I assume you also factored in the traditional "one pack per player per run" for each of the GenCon runs?

Perhaps we'll see a second printing with a return of the Silver Tickets.... :O

I did remember about the free 10-packs.

And sorry, a second printing is not an option this year. The factory minimums have gone up too high.

with true realm, tokens went on sale earlier and many of us got our orders placed well before we would have last year. which just leaves that much more time to decide we want more :)
so that may be something to consider when deciding if true realm will be run next year.

Ordering merchandise is one of the trickiest things to do. There are so many variables that come into play. Don't beat yourself up over under ordering. I think most people in the current economic climate would have done the same thing. That's really crummy though how they changed the factory minimums. I wonder how much the change has cost them in business.

Kim

You have no idea how much you're tempting me to buy more tokens.

Kim

you know, thats a good point. the company may not realize how much business they are losing. not that i would expect it to change anything in the immediate future, but maybe you could at least inform the company of how much more you would like to have ordered for a second run if thier minimums didnt prevent it. if you are lucky, they may let you get away with a second smaller order, worst case is they are at least aware of how much more business they could have done had they had a different policy.

See how much it would cost to buy a ship full of Guatemalan children and you could always start your own factory somewhere.

That's a great point, you've got nothing to lose by telling them you'd be willing to place a 2nd order at a lower minimum as you did last year, they might not turn away the business.

Or - the 2nd order could be Woodies! (in honor of the Retro dungeon of course) =D
