TOPIC: 2009 UR's

I chose the mithral cap....My set up as a ranger is as foloows:<br /><br />2 daggers of throwing - main weapons<br />troll hide armor<br />mithral cap<br />+2 cloak<br />boots of free action<br />ring of regen<br />ring of the eye<br />bracers of archery<br />gloves of dex<br />amulet of wonder<br />belt of retrival<br />then my two melee weapon if needed:<br />+2 nightshade shortsword<br />+1 mithral longsword<br /><br />has worked very well for me....

I don't know if it'll impact your decision, but there is that mithril cap on ebay right now.  If that's one of your finalist choices, you could fight for that item and then have your cake and eat it too.<br /><br />Though I have no idea what that set bonus is.

Thanks for the suggestions so far everyone.<br /><br />I guess I didn't discuss what I wanted to do, but I was looking at trying emphasize massive damage. My plan is the best defense is a good offense (don't hit me, don't hit me! ) and hope the cleric likes me.<br />So in regards to helm slot I would lean to Crown of Might over Mithral Cap, unless the Mithral set bonus would be something that causes it to outweigh the Crown. It'd be nice to know what the Mithral set bonus for sure. <br />Between the Celestial Girdle and Bracers I'd probably lean towards the Girdle based on the offense even though the Bracers have more overall usefulness.<br />Between the Girdle and a hat...well there is where I am most unsure.<br />As much as I like the keen sword, I think I'll shy away from a main hand weapon as my PYP choice. It doesn't really scream ranger like some of the other classes have in regards to weapon choice.<br /><br />I do hope the Mithral Chain is reprinted next year. I'd love to pick one up.  =)

bwa-hah!  my kind of ranger <br />between celestial girdle and crown of might: like i said above, i like the celestial girdle for the extra damage (also makes you immune to fear, you know), unless you need the crown's +1 to hit...BUT, if you are getting good use out of your current belt, you can take the crown and not give up anything.  personally, i wouldnt use the belt of retrieval often enough to dissuade me from the girdle, but maybe you do.

I would love to pick up a mithril chain too.  It's the best armor a bard can wear (to date).

It provides double the fun for my ranger ways.<br /><br />I got in my order today, which was nice considering I've been sick and stuck at home the past two days. I checked the mail this morning and didn't see it, but the mailman dropped off the "light" mail first before coming back to lug up the token order.  <br /><br />Of course I had to savor the token opening moment. I like to keep them face down, so not to spoil the surprise. I unwrap them and then flip the tokens over one at a time until I get to the rare. <br /><br />I did get a weird common token in one of my packs. I had to do a double take before realizing this wasn't any ordinary common. Instead it was wrapped in purple text and proclaimed itself to be a +2 Hammer of the Thunderbolts. I guess I have a new mainhand weapon, or a nice little trade chip to get that Crown of Might.  =D
