no I carried it through.... Granted it was not on my head..... it was carried in my "wake" through the shadow...

And what a wake it was. :)

Sorry, could resist. Gotta up that post count somehow.

Still, even being a novelty, a Bag of Holding is fun to have. I would like to have another
one that isn't on a wooden coin, but on one of the new tokens with a cool pic.
I always used mine to carry a dead party member or rations (not being the same thing :O )
in any adventure. You could pull out that dead party member for use with the catapult.
You don't need the whole person for resurrection, right?

Imagine the outcires of horror and anguish and injustice that would arise if True Dungeon instituted a policy limiting the number of tokens that a person could carry into the Dungeon with them! Even telling people they could only carry in 50 tokens would get some people very upset. =D

Huh. In 2007, I was forced to use the bag-check for a little 'half-backpack' that had only tokens in it. I figured it was policy not to let any backpacks go in.

John,

I've been taking a backpack into the dungeon with me since 2005...It holds my tokens!

If a person has a bag/backpack, and it holds tokens, we let them go in...(we also do not search to prove tokens are in there - Honor System).

In the case where the dungeon has a certain element that might make taking something in "un-friendly" to the dungeon or the person taking said item in - we really discourage the item. (EX: horned helmets or weapons - with the shadow gate from 2007).
Blimey!

The rule of thumb was if a person said they had tokens in a bag - the bag was OK to go.

Problem may have been consistency of Coaches - or Admin...
Or signs which say "No Backpacks" but dont mention exceptions for tokens.

Yeah; I see inconsistency here then...the way I remember reading it and hearing it "No Backpacks, No purses, no bags, etc."
I could swear TD made a point of that in 2006 (which was my first year as a player and volunteer).
I'm pretty certain even waist packs were supposed to be on the "not allowed" list, although I think I did use one for my token cache in 2007.

JKW

Would someone be refused entry because they did not check a bag?
I believe the original intent behind allowing people to check bags was:

1. If we used water in the event we did not want people bitching because their stuff (cell phone, gaming books, etc.) got wet.
2. The spaces in the dungeon were cramped and a huge bookbag being thrown around seemed a bit dangerous.
3. Once less thing to worry about means you can focus on the game.

I still believe we reserve the possibility of the use of spray, or squirt guns, etc. so anyone taking anything into the dungeon that could be ruined by such a trap representation is placing their stuff at risk. If someone had their tokens in a book bag, I can't see why we would prevent them, but the room and inconvenience thing still holds true.

The "Bag of Holding" was really just a novelty, meant to represent the binder in token form.
And the twist in some people's knickers was when it cost $1 to check things...

Some folks did not want their stuff checked for a cost...and the risk of damage what not was a non-issue for them as opposed to the checking of items...
