So can treasure items like the Silver Candlestick and Crystal Decanter be used in place of gold and gems when making combo items or buying stuff? I assume yes since they list a GP value.

They can, but I would try to use them sparingly if you can, you never know when something might be needed for a combo token.

The last few combos have only used "goins/gems/GP items" that were part of the current print run.  One of the formulas changes signifcantly this year because the Bless scroll was out of print (they still used one - but most of us have a few of those stashed away).

<br /><br /><br />Hey, it's still *a lot* better than the Scroll - Purify Food and Water that was needed two years ago for the Periapt. Man, getting that scroll was simply a *ridiculous* endeavour!!!    =|

Yes, but how many bless scrolls do you think are still out there to be used now?  Getting rid of things that can provide bonuses as a combo ingredient is one way to increase the difficulty level of the dungeon.  Well done Jeff & Dave!

I have 46 Bless scrolls - give or take a few that got used this year...

I think each year has had one or two out of print tokens. I remember how tough the Scroll of Purify Food and Drink was to get in 2006, much tougher than Bless this year.

I wonder if Bless might make it's way back in the 2009 set.<br /><br />Kim
