TOPIC: New 2009 Purple tokens (speculation)

<br />About when does Jeff post the thread seeking ideas for new tokens (and rooms) for the next True Dungeon?<br />

Something for the Rangers?  How about something for both druids and rangers?  Maybe a series of spirit tokens, like figurines of wonderous power, but they don't transform into animals but instead channel the essence of a particular animal to the user.<br /><br />Bear Spirit Token:  Once per room adds +2 to hit and damage<br /><br />Lion Spirit Token:  Add +2 to dexterity<br /><br />Dragon Spirit Token:  Add +1 to A.C.<br /><br />Only one token may be used by a ranger or druid at a time, may not be changed during the course of the adventure<br /><br /><br />===============<br /><br /><br />Not necessarily purple, but something for everyone, <br /><br />Demon Mask:  mask with the visage of a horrid monster on it, has four charges, each charge allows the wearer to breath fire for a set amount of damage<br /><br />Drow Crossbow: a basic missile weapon<br /><br />A series of single year only polearm tokens, such as poleaxe, lucern hammer, bec de corbin, bardiche, halberd, etc<br /><br />Shuriken: a basic missile weapon<br /><br />Monkey Gloves:  Allow wearer to use a weapon not normally usable by their class<br /><br />Ball of Lightning:  Single use item usable by every class, requires a slide to hit, and causes target a set amount of electrical damage.

Jammies has a good point - is Ranger the only class w/o a special token?<br /><br />Maybe a special ranger-only bow

<br /><br />ranger kinda has the mithral long sword for off hand, but i still think nightshades is better (extra 'to hit' and D6+2 with 3 becomes 8 vs d8+1).  mostly ranger just picks up the best thing other classes have available (yes, lots of options, but nothing that is best for ranger vs other class).  as for a special bow, it might be cool, but the special thing about ranger is the ability to slide two weapons...ooo, maybe a +2 quick shot bow for ranger (ranger fires twice in one round...other classes that can use the bow only fire once)?  not sure how it would work since you could only put the token in one of the sliders, but the ranger already has the two sliders.  or just slide a second time, after everyone else has cleared off the board, before the monster attackes.

<br /><br />There is not a special Druid-only weapon yet either. 

Agreed - the best thing about the Ranger is the utility of the CHAR.  Like having special enemy races which acts like a special weapon - only you get it with ALL weapons.<br /><br />Rangers don't need squat!

<br /><br />Druids for SURE don't need SQUAT!

They can use them (and the Mithral LS is a great bonus), but Rangers don't have a special token just for them.<br /><br />Wizard = Ring of Wizardry<br />Cleric = Mace of Disruption (and Paladin), Gearon's Mace (is this limited to clerics?)<br />Paladin = Holy Great Sword<br />Monk = Bracers of Palm/Dragonfist<br />Barbarian = Great Club of Bashing<br />Rogue = Nightshade's Short Sword<br />Fighter = Actually, fighters don't have a special token, either, do they?<br />Druid = Hmmm - I know the Dragonscale armor is great for druids, but do they have special items?  Can't think of any.<br />Bard = Widseth's Lute<br />
