TOPIC: What token do you wanted added to the 2005C printing?

I was thinking more like the CHAR with the ring of spell storing could add spells to his/her list of known spells...and not have to mess at all with what is in the ring...

So show up in tavern with ring and add 3-5 spells to the ones on your card...pretty simple - but it costs you a ring slot all game.

I'd be pleased with a VR +3 AC shield, though that's more class restricted than most. Perhaps a "crown" or "coronet" object with a useful-across-the-board power? Wouldn't interfere with extant stuff, and just sounds cool. "Oh that? It's my Coronet of Divine Blessings. It kicks in an automatic full heal if I die. One time only!"

How about some of the name spells in honor of the Greyhawk setting:
1) Bigby's Clenched Fist- Arcane Scroll- Would need to lower the damage value to say 3 points per round, no miss, lasts one room.
2) Melf's Minute Meteors- Arcane Scroll- Ranged weapon, fire damage (could set things on fire), damage marks like a sling stone (1d4) around edge, 5 attacks in one round
3) Melf's Acid Arrow- Already made.
4) Tasha's Uncontrollable Hideous Laughter- Arcane Scroll- Opponent can not attack next round.

I am not sure if all of the name spells are from Greyhawk.

Some other token suggestions
5) Flame Blade- Divine scroll- melee weapon, token has 1 to 4 damage marks around edge like a weapon, double damage against undead, lasts one room, fire damage (sets flammable things on fire)- another option could be a straight 5, 6, 7, or 8 damage
6) Helmet- Armor +1
7) Gear- Sack

Ring of Invisibility - good for one room per adventure

Potion of Jumping - leap tall buildings or wide chasms in a single bound

Boots of Spider Climb (or ring or amulet) - +1 to all appropriate climb/balance checks. Perhaps 1 auto reroll if failed (good only once per adventure).

Scroll of Clairvoyance - user may ask for one clue from the DM while in the room.

Dagger of Throwing - returns to thrower, attack 1x per round

Scroll of Spiritual Weapon - caster may use combat table as if in melee combat (step up to table), yet be "out of harm's reach"

Bag of Marbles

... a few that came to mind. More to come.

Ah forgot one that was discussed on another thread a while back...

Darts - a "disposable, common token" which would contain 6 boxes that can be checked with each attack allowing for only 6 uses. This would give a mage a missile weapon. Perhaps even up to 2 attacks per round. 1-4 dmg.

My mind is on "common" item tokens...

Hooded Lantern - the player may show the token to acquire a light sourse. (Perhaps another cool looking prop along the lines of the torch.) The token is non-consumable, HOWEVER the fuel oil would be. So, along with the Lantern token would be the need for

Flask of Oil - the flask is a consumable token item. It can be used to fuel the lantern, as a missile weapon, or as a tool. In the lantern, one flask of oil could last the entire adventure.

Torch - they could be very cheap and very common. For logistics-sake, the duration could be one room and only one used per party, per room whereby limiting the # of "torches" the dm must maintain.

All could give more purpose to the existing Flint and Steel token as it may be needed to ignite the torch, lantern or oil if no other source is available.

Now for a few Very Rare token ideas...

Chime of Opening - Perhaps 3 to 5 charges.

Gem of Seeing - One use per adventure.

Manual of Skill - An amalgamation of the various librams, tomes and manuals in D&D that gave characters a free level. In this case, the TD player may trade this token in for a one time boost of xp that takes them to the next player level.

and lastly, more for fun than "in-game" use...

Decanter of Endless Water - It can be in the bag purchases, or perhaps as part of a very few special "mugs" being made. The few lucky lottery winners who happen to get the token or mug get free soda refills (either unlimited or consumable check boxes on the token.) Okay, I'm shamelessly thinking of this one as the possible "volunteer" token. It must be shown to Fritz before we are allowed to get a soda or snack. :D ...

This is a fun excercise... so many great, classic options and so many that could depend on the specifics of a situation (ie. fire resistance, cold resistance, water breathing, etc.).
