TOPIC: A few questions about the rules

A few questions about the rules 15 years 9 months ago #1

A few quick questions - I apologize if the answers are obvious to some here.

Is there any effect of casting keen edge on the +2 keen scimitar?

Has there ever been an incident in TD where scrolls or potions were lost without their being used (e.g. that the bone scroll case or alchemist pouch saved items from destruction)?

What is the advantage of having the robe and cloak of the mage if one can cast mage armor at the beginning of the dungeon and it lasts for the entire adventure?

Do gloves and gauntlets take up the same item slot?

Is the spider silk short the only item that overlaps body armor (both take the same slot and that is allowed)? or have I missed something?

Of all the traits of humanity, there is only one we do not share with other species, which sets us apart and makes us unique
-- the ability to imagine.

Is there any effect of casting keen edge on the +2 keen scimitar?
It cannot be done.

Has there ever been an incident in TD where scrolls or potions were lost without their being used (e.g. that the bone scroll case or alchemist pouch saved items from destruction)?
The items are relatively new - but this is TD - anything can happen.

What is the advantage of having the robe and cloak of the mage if one can cast mage armor at the beginning of the dungeon and it lasts for the entire adventure?
Not all mages have Mage Armor.

Do gloves and gauntlets take up the same item slot?
Yes.

Is the spider silk shirt the only item that overlaps body armor (both take the same slot and that is allowed)? or have I missed something?
Yes.
Thank you for the almost instant reply.

On the hands vs. wrists, what is the overlap between gloves, bracers, bracelets and gauntlets? Did I miss any?

For slot purposes:

gloves = gauntlets
bracers = bracelets

but you CAN wear gloves and bracers (or the equivalent) together
What is the advantage of having the robe and cloak of the mage if one can cast mage armor at the beginning of the dungeon and it lasts for the entire adventure?
Not all mages have Mage Armor.

Also, spells can be dispelled in a dungeon...

I beleive that the Robe and Cloak combined will give you one better AC than the Mage Armor scroll (which can be displelled?), and you get a +2 to save as well with the Robe/Cloak combo.

Also bring a spare suit of armor because one day TD might have pants weavels that will eat your armored shorts.

I would guess that if a scroll-carrying member of the party had been caught in a medusa-cast fireball last year, and didn't have a bone scroll case, things could have been ugly.

Do you mean Drider-cast? He hit parties with a Fireball a few years back and nothing happened to scrolls or potions...but who knows in the age of NIGHTMARES!
