TOPIC: 2005A, 2005B and 2006 Token Checklists

2005A, 2005B and 2006 Token Checklists 15 years 11 months ago #1

Does anyone have checklists (preferably in electronic format) of what tokens are in the 2005A, 2005B, and 2006 Sets? The data that is out there on what tokens are in each set (particularly 2005A and 2005B) is a bit confusing, and doesn't quite match up with some of the tokens I have. If you have them, feel free to PM me and I can send you an email address.

Thanks!
Mike

I know that part of the reason they don't match up is misprints.

I think Dave was putting an official list together for the new Token Guide.
I will try and convert the matrix to a spreadsheet in a few days. If I can not post it here, you can e-mail me for a copy.
Dave

Here is what I have, the misprints page is not complete, I am sure...
All of the token lists were verified against the artwork provided to the printer(s), so other than a rare typo, the list should be accurate.

Dave

Hi Dave,

On the misprints page, why is the Girdle of Hill Giant Strength published in 2005b a misprint with a .com back? Didn't all of them have .com backs in 2005b?

I'll bet that the printing for many of the potential misprints didn't change from year to year, so (for instance) a token printed in 2006 with a 2005b back couldn't be distinguished from an actual 2005b token. If all those were erased from the list, I'll bet the possible list of identifiable misprints would be a lot lower. You'd either need someone with all the actual tokens from each of the years or the printing masters to figure that out though.

Thanks!
Mike
On the misprints page, why is the Girdle of Hill Giant Strength published in 2005b a misprint with a .com back? Didn't all of them have .com backs in 2005b?

No, a hand full of purps were printed with the first run, they have the "west wind" (dragon) symbol on the back. Jeff went back and decided to make purps a bigger deal and printed up several for the event, and used the ".com" back because he did not have enough "West Wind" blanks to accomidate all the various ones that needed to be printed, but had left over ".com" backs from 2003. No it is not a misprint, technically, but some in the 2005b series purples have the "West Wind" symbol, and others have the ".com" back. It is my understanding that any token with a ".com" back is actually printed on stock that was made in 2003 and used solely for time slot markers until Jeff used the left overs in 2005 to print purps.

That is correct, for those tokens which the design did not change, there will be no way to tell the difference. I did not dig down to that depth, yet. The list was created solely on the potential for misprinting, meaning that tokens were printed in one year(s) and not the other(s). I will prune out things that can not be detected as we go.

Dave

Bro,

You can confirm the .Com printings for the entire 2005b print run, right? So far Dave only has the Girdle confirmed as .Com.

I'd be interested if people can confirm all of the PURPs as the 2005b (West Wind/Dragon) back - it seemed like the .Com was a lot more common than those.

Bro
