TOPIC: Stacking effects: MW Thieves' Tools and Ektdar's Tinkering Tool

They have two different effects, so they could be used together in theory.  But if you're either using one or the other to pick a lock, I guess you'd have to specify one or the other.  <br /><br />Normally, when you're picking a lock and you fail (the first time it happens), you can pull out your MW Thieves' Tools token and get to start over.  <br /><br />Ektdar's Tinkering Tool lets you stop at the midpoint, so you only have to cover half as much track.  But, if you're using Ektdar's tool, and you DO bump the side and set off the trap, can you still get the effect of MW Tools?  <br /><br />Can you start off with Masterwork Tools, fail to pick the lock, and then start over with Ektdar's Tool instead?<br /><br />Just some things to think about and clear up with official rulings. <br />
