TOPIC: Widseth's Mystical Lute Question

Widseth's Mystical Lute Question 16 years 3 weeks ago #1

Would I be correct in thinking that bards who are lucky enough to have Widseth's Mystical Lute will not have to actually sing during combat?

Kim

you were never required to sing to begin with.

If it's not required then that needs to be made clear to the dms. I've watched dms tell people playing the bard that they had to sing in order for their party to get the bonus.

Kim

That's exactly why I want this clarified. It would really seem that having to sing would defeat the whole purpose of the lute. I also think the idea of having to sing drives a number of people away from playing what is developing into a rather powerful class.

Kim

if someone has an instrument then they don't have to sing, but they had to play the instrument....I am sure that with the the lute that they will not have to sing......but if you have to sing.... find something besides 99 bottles of beer on the wall and the song that never ends to sing.....

Maybe people like the coolness of the bard character but really don't like to sing in public and that's why you get so many renditions of 99 bottles of beer on the wall.

Kim

I don't really think that you can tell someone that they have to sing because of the character they chose then count it against them when they choose a song that you don't like.

Kim
