TOPIC: Rumor Tokens and 2008?

Rumor Tokens and 2008? 16 years 1 month ago #1

Will Rumor Tokens work in 2008? Noticing they were not in this years set, should we bring them along? What is replacing them?
Thanks
Greyseer

You can turn in old ones this year. We just not print any this year. They got to be a little troublesome logistically, so we are trying to lower their use a bit this year.

(At least that is the rumor I heard...)

Do you know that I still have about 15 of those left?

Oh wait, this isn't the questions thread...

The rumors were all crappy and ambiguous. I like my rumors nice and simple. Something like, The treasure is buried at X, right across the street from Crazy Dick's Shovel Emporium and Grunt Rental.

The rumors this year will not be less unconfusing if at all possible taking into account windage and elevation forwith and in reverse order too -- unless it is deemed not unlikely due to unforeseen unknownables that might arise downwind from the side.

well this makes perfect sense to me. it translates into...."we all meet at henwy's house and dig up his yard with our rented shovels." =D

Just make sure it's not his parents' house. An angry older chinese couple coming after you with various cooking implements is not a sight designed to make one complacent.

Hmm... It seems like some people think the words "rumor" and "clue" mean the same thing... but they don't.

Every year I used one minor and one major rumour because I always had so many. They've yet to help and in a couple cases they led to longer times in certain rooms due to mis-interpretation or outright mis-leading. On the other hand, they are fun. If I still have extras when I get there this year, I don't know if I'll use'em since I've not found the rumours useful at all.

I think I burned around 15 of them last year, just to make sure I got a copy of every one that was available. None of the info turned out to be helpful in the end and some of the red herrings turned out to be especially obnoxious.

I think we used about 12 of them on my run last year (yes, just one...).
A couple of the rumors were very obscure, but I seem to recall that a couple of them actually made me think about how to solve the puzzles... didn't one of them mention the whole mother's ring thing for the wraith room?
