Feh. I have a complaint about the new combos. Well, actually, let me rephrase that. I have one complaint at the moment about the new combos. I'm sure I'll come up with other things to bitch about later. My current beef is the inclusion of '08 ingredients into the mix. That stinks. It basiclaly means that if you don't run early, you have lessof a chance to get the combo item even if you have allthe other ingredients because you won't have even had the possibilty of getting an 08 ingredient from the dungeon. I don't see any good reason to break the idea of the current year's ingredients being used for the next year's combos. It builds a nice continuity from year to year and dosen't shaft people about when their runs are.

You should have whittled harder. I could have lent you a chainsaw.<br /><br />Yay. Found #2 already. It dosen't seem like all that much of a boon to have collected one each of all the ingredient tokens rather than just having a hodge podge of the same number. it's a matter of a ring of sanctuary and 500 GP. That seems pretty miniscule considering the differing levels of effort involved between the two. The third step of not even needing ingredients at the cost of just a couple more rares, a few uncommons and 500 more GP is even worse. You might as well not even have the ingredient tokens for this. A lot of people went through a lot of effort to collect a set. If they had known this ahead of time, I can't see many putting through the amount of effort they did.<br /><br />I understand the idea of letting newer people or not as die-hard people having a chance too, but at some point there should be some reward for dedication and dilligance. This was supposed to be something extra special for those of us who've collected and traded and made sure we had a set and it ends up being something that anyone can pick up with just a small handful of red's and some gold.<br /><br />Look at it this way, the difference between having 8 ingredient tokens or not having ANY ingredient tokens is: 1 Ring of Sactuary, 3 scrolls of bane, 2 ioun stones, and 500 GP. Using a single 07 ingredient token in the lesser combos will net you an average savings of (300 + 100 + 50 = 450/3) 150 GP per token. Multiple that by 8 and you get 1200 GP. Just from a value standpoint, assuming you had '07 ingredients, you'd be a fool to use them in the 4C receipe. It'd be like throwing gold away.  700 GP can easily buy you the necessary ingredients right now and wouldn't take even a tenth of the effort.

The Combo tokens are great, much better than in past years, thanks!<br /><br />I kind of feel the same way Henwy does, it seems very unfair to people running on Saturday to need a 2008 ingredient token, since only 1/3 of the combo tokens are available on Saturday.  And, if you aren't lucky enough to get an 2008 Ingredient Token, you might be out of luck.

The best item is clearly the bracers out of all this. It's huge and easily purptastic. The medal will likely just end up as a knickknack more than anything else due to the plethora of other spiffy neck spot items.

I think the Medallion is powerful enough that it will get a pretty good number of people using it.  I'm impressed with all of this year's combo tokens - I'll be in line to get them  =)

I think the Medallion could be a pretty useful item - esp if Jeff uses a lot of creatures and traps that could cause those effects.
