TOPIC: The next generation of TD

I've posted before that my grandkids all enjoy getting little token gifts from grandpa once in a while.  When they come to visit we have some fairly active trading, but it has risen to a new level.  My grandaughter has now graduated to a new level--she just turned 10.<br /><br />Her younger brother just came for an overnight visit.  He brought a note from her while we were painting some mini figures.  He first made the disclaimer that it wasn't his fault, but she made him bring the note.<br /><br />Contents of the note (verbatum):<br /><br />If Nicole trades<br />her +1 longsword <br />and +1 great sword<br />and her large<br />shield, will she get<br />a +1 Mithral longsword<br />and a tower shield?<br /><br />Love...Nicole!<br /><br /><br />I was going to use my extra +1 Mithral LS to couple with something to try to get Mithral Chain somehow, but now what's a grandpa to do?  Worst of it is that I didn't give her the +1 Great sword.  She probably convinced her youngest brother that rope would be more useful than that big hunk of steel.  She is a menace in the making.

hmmmm. we need to get some kiddie chairs for the next meeting. 

That's a tough one.  I might suggest that if you do accept the trade there is no guarantee that it will end there.  Who knows what she might ask for next and then how are you going to explain it?  She could go on blackmailing you with her cuteness for years if you don't put a stop to it early.

'Do you have any idea how much this sword is worth?! I can always get more grandkids but the sword will be OoP after this year!'

See, and here I'm mentally hearing the 'In my day we had to . . . ' speech.<br /><br />Tough love, Widseth, tough love. Don't let her think its okay to start taking advantage of people.  <br /><br />I'd send a note back with the brother<br />If Nicole sends this, she could get this(reasonable trade offer).<br /><br />Oh and yes, total Tokenholics. I'll set up the kiddie table for the next meeting. Any suggestion on the flavor of the juice boxes or should I get capri suns?
