My order of tokens won't come in for a while so I'll start the offer with

cash say about 4x the listed price on the guide to the first person that

offers their ring

of regen.

I tried earlier to purchase a Ring of Regenration. I couldn't get anyone to even admit to being willing to sell at any price.

Your bid of 4x the book price comes out to around $100.00, given the lack of interest by the sellers, this is actually much more reasonable than the price on checklist.

If anyone is interested in selling in the price range, please let me know also.

That's about right.

I heard what effort was used for one and believed that a fair price myself.

Ya know, I could part with a little round piece of wood with pretty purple letters on it, despite its rarity. But it's not just the rarity of the item, or its usefulness in the dungeon, which prevent me from parting with mine.

It's the symbolism. That ring isn't just $100 worth of collectible value. That ring represents untold hours of blood, sweat and tears... it speaks of sleepless nights spent entertaining tavern patrons, of coroplast-cuts received during take-down, of scraping silly string off shuffleboards, of loading props into a van at 4am, of screaming muscles the next morning and a dehydration hangover that lasted til we were north of the 49th parallel.

IF volunteers are given Rings of Regen again this year, I might consider parting with one of the two. But until then, that ring means a lot more to me than plain cash.

Jeff,

All the more reason to NOT give away Rings of Regeneration again OR it might be time for a tier volunteer give-away program.

First Con = ring of regen...
Second Con = ring of invisibility
Third Con = ring of three wishes
etc.

This may in a SMALL WAY keep your volunteers coming back...and it may keep items from being fed to the collectors - if that is more appealing to the others who earn those tokens of appreciation.

just two tokens on the topic.

What is actually scary about a token being worth over $100 to some people is the problem of counterfitting. There are commercial sites that offer to make tokens and for about $40.00 someone could get a fair number printed. Unlike magic cards, tokens would be very easy to reproduce.

I can see it now. TD starts producing tokens with anti-counterfeiting measures including holograms, multi-colored inks, and imbedded microchips.
