Yah, but they are a royal pain in the butt when you are trying to manage something like the collector's matrix

Dave

As far as TD need be concerned - just post the sets and what SHOULD have been created...let the collectors fuss over the misprints and anomalies ...

How about my case, where I have tokens that were in 2005a but not in 2005b or 2006, but I have with a 2005b back? Were there any tokens in the 2005b run accidentally printed with the 2005a front template?

There should not have been, the tokens with the 2005b backing should not have even been there when the 2005a tokens were printed. The only thing I can think is that I seem to recall an emergency printing of a batch of tokens for SoCal 2005 (sort of a last minute thing, it was all arranged over the phone from SoCal), I suppose the printer could have grabbed the wrong screen.

What token is it?

Dave

Dave,

The three tokens I have that were part of 2005a but have 2005b backs are the Scroll of Detect Magic, Wand of Cure Light Wounds, and Scroll of Endure Elements.

To answer your question on the other thread, the misprints I have that are 2006 tokens with 2005b backs are Elven Chain, +1 Plate Armor, +1 Longbow, and Scroll of Mage Hand.

I agree that the checklists should only include the official tokens from that print run, not misprints. Although, it would be very neat to have a listing somewhere of all known misprints (because you know I want them all =) ).

Thanks!
Mike

I have set up an appendix in the token guide that lists all possible tokens where misprints could be identified. I have started placing indicators where people have itentified they have a misprinted token. Send me any you identify (or post them here), and I will keep the list updated as I find them out and release new versions of the guide.

Note: there were some purps printed on tokens with a .com back (in 2005 I think). If you have some of those, let me know what they are.

Dave

Dave,

I'm not sure if this counts as a misprint since the entire print run was this way, but in 2005a the Quarter Staff and +1 Quarter Staff were printed as Quarter Sraff and +1 Quarter Sraff.

Yah, I am not counting that one, it is more of a typo, but those tokens are fairly hard to find now...

Similarly, the Elixir of Life from 2005a was spelled "Exilir of Life". =)

Token Guide on the Scroll: Scorching Ray description.

It reads on Page 37, bottom of page: Dexterity bonuses, such as that from the Bracers of Archery, do not apply

First, Bracers of Archery do not grant Dexterity bonuses, should the guide perhaps read Potion of Cats Grace or Gloves of Dexterity.
Or is it actually 'Damage Bonuses, such as that from Bracers of Archery, do not apply' (so Dex bonuses do make it easier to hit with Ray spells as one would expect).

Lastly, there should be a period at the end of the sentence.

Question on the Bracelet of the Zephyr (this is carried over from the Sigh... thread under Token Trades that may escape Dave's Notice)

Sorry, but I am a bit confused, Zephyr only works on spells?

(From the combo token recipe thread truedungeon.com/trueforum/index.php?topic=3954.0

3C - Bracelets of the Zephyer - When worn, allows a spell caster to cast two spells in one round (useable once per room), the spells may be memorized or from scrolls (scrolls must still be turned in) NOTE: this will not stack with a belt of retrieval.

So I go and look at the token guide and see, sure enough the token guide says spells only.
on page 60
'Wearing this pair of bracelets allows a spell caster, once per combat, to cast an additional spell within the combat round as a free action. Note: only one free action is allowed per combat round.'

which is slightly different from the wording on page 33

'Wearing this pair of bracelets allows a spell caster, once per combat, to immediately cast an additional unused spell within the combat round as a free action. Note: only one free action is allowed per combat round.'

During the 2008 run, we had it ruled as it was on the thread, but clarity is sought and the various write-ups should be consistent.
Many thanks,
Greyseer

P.S. if you want to read impassioned pleas to allow scrolls see the 'Sigh...' thread
I wanted it to apply to all spells scroll or memorized, Jeff did not. I will go and argue with him some more and see who wins...

Dave
