Some of those sound like additional 2006 MISPRINTS - Like the Longbow, Plate and EChain...

interesting...

You must be right about the Scroll of Mage Hand, since it was only printed in 2006. The others weren't printed in 2006, so they can't be 2006 Misprints.

Sure they can - the error occurred in 2006 - even if those tokens were not in the 2006 set. See?

But more likely they are ones just missed in the set.

Can't SMAK confirm what is on the 2005B board and then we know for sure...?

CLW wand definitely is a misprint.

That would be great, I'd love to have a definitive list.
OK, review of 2005b with correct sheet shows only one error:

The matrix shows a Scroll of Detect Magic, there should not be one.

The 2006 listing is correct, except for Savior Stone which is listed as 2007, it should be in 2006.

I thought we already had this conversation. The new version of the guide will have confirmed lists in the back. It currently does not account for misprints.

Thanks! I'm looking forward to seeing the guide and getting the lists. It would be neat to see a list of confirmed misprints somewhere also - I don't think the list is that long.

Certainly anything unique to 2005B could be printed as a 2005A backed token. I am not sure about any uniqe 2006 tokens printed with 2005 backs, however.

Dave

How about my case, where I have tokens that were in 2005a but not in 2005b or 2006, but I have with a 2005b back? Were there any tokens in the 2005b run accidentally printed with the 2005a front template?

Well we know about the throw-back misprints...+1 Longbow, Plate, E Chain...these had the +1 to AC in 2005B and then said something different in 2006. Problem was some of the 2006 language was put on 2005B backs in 2006.

I think I got that right...???

Thing is there could be a lot more tokens like this - but they would not show up unless there was a slight change to the wording on the token in 2006.

There should not have been, the tokens with the 2005b backing should not have even been there when the 2005a tokens were printed. The only thing I can think is that I seem to recall an emergency printing of a batch of tokens for SoCal 2005 (sort of a last minute thing, it was all arranged over the phone from SoCal), I suppose the printer could have grabbed the wrong screen.

What token is it?

Dave

I was not aware of the ones from 2006, if you both could, send me an e-mail with a list of examples. I already know about the 2005b specific tokens with a 2005a back, but the rest we should try and document somewhere.

Just to be clear, other than an honest mistake, the guide should be correct with what was supposed to be printed for each year. I have gone through the new version of the guide (not out yet) and compaired it with what Jeff has sent me as the official cut sheets (or the artwork sent to the printer) for each year's tokens. So I am assuming that if the guide matrix and the artwork sent to the printers matches, then it should be accurate as to what was printed.

Misprints from wooden tokens aside. Those are primarily due to the fact that the backs and fronts were printed at different printers. So the misprints were due to left over tokens from previous year's accidentially getting mixed with new ones when they were sent to the second printer. the second printer never would bother to check the obverse of the tokens they were printing on, so it was never caught until collectors found them.

Dave
