yes it is written that a ranger can only use a spear in his primary hand

not broken...just some creative thinking to use it...lol

Also if I remember correctly the ranger can wield 2 Nightshade shortswords if they have them. A rather deadly melee combo.<br /><br />I think one of the things that keeps that in check is rarity. There are only so many Nightshades short swords out there, and only so many throwing daggers as they were a combo item.<br />So the likely combination of pairing those weapons, while possible, is rather low.<br /><br />Feel free to correct me though.

I thought the extra damage only comes into play if you are a rogue backstabbing.  To the ranger, they would just be +2 short swords.

Exactly, they can weild 2 +2 weapons. No other class can do that. Can they?

nightshades short sword is one of the best single handed weapons when you look at average damage...while the special symbol is only special for rogue, it is still a second 8, meaning instead of 3,4,5,6,7,8 you have 4,5,6,7,8,8.  the +2 long is barely better than that.

<br /><br />Combat is much simpler for a pixie.   <br /><br />You point at the bad thing.  Say "Make it go away".  Close your eyes.  <br />and when you open them, your protectors have made it go away.    <br />
